Soul Profess, The Producer/Beatmaker, Emcee, & self taught Guitarist/Bassist/Drummer has been a
musical maniac since a young child. Soul first started out at the young age of around eight years old,
writing raps and rhyming over his own "pause tape" loops and mixes- Which were constructed with
nothing but some old funk/soul records, turntable, a tape deck, and a God given talent for making music.
Influenced by many hip-hop artists of that era such as Big Daddy Kane, Ultra-Magnetic Mcs, Jungle Bros,
Lord Finnese, and many others, he began to write, produce and record songs with just a very primitive stereo
setup. In the early 90's, although still continuing to MC, he got deeper into the production aspect of things. Using
only a Tascam four track, along with an Gemini mixer+sampler, his enthusiasm and passion for
beatmaking would only grow. During these early years most of his time was spent either making music
or b-boying. He would then start to produce many songs for his older brothers who were also MCs.
Around this time, Soul also picked up the electric guitar and began teaching himself how to play by ear
and by playing along to rock/funk/soul music.
After graduating high school Soul Professa took some time off from making music but never lost the love
for it, while still continuing to play in various local Hardcore/Punk bands. Fast forward years later - After coming home happily from a general discharge with the army, he was now working with
the classic EMU SP-1200 sampler. Eager to get back into beatmaking and making music, he started
picking up how to work the legendary drum machine (which only has 10 seconds TOTAL sample time). Adjusting to the limatations of the sampler were at first a challenge, but making beats on this
machine would soon become a 2nd nature. It wouldn't be long before he was a full-time producer
locking himself up in the room perfecting his craft. In 2002, Soul Professa produced his younger brother
Anterluz's entire first E.P, entitled "The Preciseness", which also featured brother Q-dubb. Soul Professa
is currently building up his discography and is still producing for many artists in and outside of the U.S.
Just to name a few, I've done tracks for Diamond D, Anterluz, Planet Asia, Rasco, Big Shug, Billy Danze(M.O.P), Cappadonna, JR Writer, Fashawn, L.E.G.A.C.Y.(Justus League), Rain (of the Militia), Guilty Simpson, Phil Tha Agony, Wildchild(Stones Throw) and many more. Plus several talented up & coming/independent artists(that you'll hear much more from in
the future, trust, so keep it locked). I'm just getting started, so definitely stay tuned...

Soul Professa! How are you doing? Hope everything is well over there in California! It's been some time since we last talked, but we have something to share with you: 3 weeks ago we released our 2nd album A DAY OFF with a smashing party at PAX's place! We hope you have some time to listen to it at www.paxandpry.com. You can also download it there for free.
Man I've been busy at work but now things are slow and there has been a lot of layoffs. I have been working on some new beats. I need to write some rhymes. I also started taking guitar lessons. How are things with you?
