About Sourwood Sweet

Sourwood Sweet came together by way of circumstance as other groups dematerialized. We felt that there was music yet to be written...and it would be better dually. Founding members, Jeremy Wood, (songwriter, guitar, mandolin, vocals and percussion) and Faye Petree, (fiddler, songwriter, vocals, squeeze box, and percussion) began at a glorious uniting in December of 2006 at a speak-easy unspoken in High Point, NC. The sound that has come out of their complimentary efforts range from americana, bluegrass, jazz, blues and rock 'n' roots that is the ethos of what we don't try to classify. Sourwood Sweet is a band that can play to any room and move anyone that enjoys beautiful noise...or music for short. Our ability to play as an acoustic duo is only the ying to the yang of our transformation to rock the house with special guests and surprise performances!! You are invited to continue the growing of our musical journey by seeing our shows, bringing friends and family and SUPPORTING LIVE MUSIC!!

Poem 2 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (please see my blog): WALKABOUT WITH MY PEN Once drove an old sedan, up north, From a place in Sydney to Cairns; Then to Kuranda I went forth, By train, to look without set plans. I browsed through the trendy market, With fresh fruits of tropical kind; Walked to the creek through lush thicket - Nature’s hand giving peace of mind. I dined in a scenic cafe; Then, outside, as I wrote for yen, Some passing Kooris called-out: “Hey, You go walkabout with your pen.” Request or question, I don’t know - Assured voices, elderly men.
