Spin-Monkeys are made up of 2 brothers, Pete and Illy. They began dj-ing in the mid 90’s, and started off by playing all aspects of house and garage music. Their love for music soon shone through as they moved from the bedroom into regular house parties. They rapidly built up a reputation with their dj-ing ability and found themselves providing more and more demo tapes. As time went on their musical tastes moved to a more underground feel, and progressed towards the electotech sound the are they are known for today.
Before long they found themselves playing at small clubs, bars and pre-parties for other promoters, as well as running their own small nights in Norwich and Bury St Edmunds. This gradually led on to club warm ups and guest slots for various nights around east anglia.

In April 2006 Pete saw a thread on a clubbing website advertising the Pams House-PHunky DJ competition which they entered, and went on to win, beating over 60 other DJ’s from around the county. This lead onto a residency for PHunky, as well as sets at The Hunny Club in Brighton, and Es Paradis in Ibiza and playing alongside Dj's such as Axwell, Yousef, Gordon Edge and Jonathan Ulysses to name a few.
At the start of 2007 they started a night called Overdose playing all things underground in clubs across the UK. It's gone from strength to strength and they're still throwing some of the best parties in the east of England. SpinMonkeys have also performed @ various other clubs including Pacha - London, Pacha - Egypt, Ministry of Sound UK, Turnmills London, Es Paradis Ibiza and Eden Ibiza which has lead to Spin-Monkeys supporting such acts as Meat Katie, Touche, Deepgroove, Sonny Wharton, Kris Darang, Timo Garcia, Daniele Davoli and Yousef.
It's been a busy few years for SpinMonkeys, but they've still found time to get in the studio and have had several releases on Red Recordings and Whartone
With DJ bookings across Europe, original material due for release in December '09 and several remix's nearing completion, things are looking good!
SpinMonkeys style would be described as driving and melodic with a basic policy of, if it makes you smile and move your ass, it gets played. Today they are best known for playing driving underground house music with a twist, cutting up tunes, dropping accappelas and using effects to there full potential, all on 4 CDJ's and Ableton Live
