The Primrose hosts, Xpress Yourself Open Mic night, every Tuesday night. Its free entry and anybody can get up and perform. About me: The Primrose is a small but successful music venue 10 minutes from Leeds City centre.
We offer gigs to any kind of bands from anywhere.
We've had bands from America and the Ukraine play for us and we've also had local bands from the leeds area and from different parts of the country.
The Primrose provides its own PA system including 2 sound engineers and a backline of drumkit, bass and guitar amp if necassary.
Past bands that have played for us include 10,000 things, Rebel Yell, Aces and Eights, The Hair, Oochi, Four Day Hombre.
The Ukrainans from the Ukraine
and The Bridewell Taxis who played their first come back gig here.
The Primrose provides a warm and friendly atmosphere in which to play and cheap beer.
We also provide rehersal space with PA for £5 an hour, the money then goes towards Equiptment repairs.
We host a variety of nights, which include Punk nights, Indie Nights, Accoustic Nights, Open Mic Nights, Funk nights and frequent fundraiser nights for charity. For Nights look to the left.
If your interested in any of our gigs at the Primrose and wish to come down then please do.
We have an Over 18s Policy for customers not bands, but exceptions can be made if phoned and asked in advance. Anyone under the age of 18, coming in for band nights, will need parental supervision.
The Primrose welcomes any new or old bands and artists interested in playing for us.

It looks like theres nothing there...but click on the subalbums...and Magic!!!
Door Charge
There is a £3 Door Charge on ALL nights, except Open Mic (Which is free). We dont have guest lists and we dont care if you're the drummers mum and dad or the singers girlfriend, its still £3 :)...Money goes to the bands anyway.
Who I'd like to meet: Local and far bands willing to travel to Leeds.
Notes to bands wanting to book gigs with us:
Nights usually have around 4-5 acts on (all booked by us). We have sound checks at 7pm, and the night starts at 8:30-9pm depending on how many acts are on.
There are no set payment fees, we charge £3 on the door (sometimes more if theres more bands than usual on), this is then split between the bands at the end of the night. So depending on how busy it is depends on how much money you make, obviously we wanna try give you as much as we can so self promotion and stuff is important. We Provide Sound engineers, Bass Amp, Pa, Drum kit (minus breakables) etc, all youd need is instruments, cymbols, snare and guitar amps.
The guys prefer to use our own drum kit as it saves change overtimes, but if your drummer insists on using his own, then he may have to let everyone else on, on the night use it too as their isnt enough time to change over drumkits half way through the night.
Thanks for having us last Sunday! We had a great time, was just a shame we had to rush off straight after, public transport, rock n roll eh... Oh, and Happy Birthday Primrose! maMa x x x
HELLO - we hope you enjoy this video: This is an excerpt from the feature length film "Die Son! Die!" by Miles Perhower in association with elementary productions, starring the glorious Miss Halliwell. It is a concept concert album.. a film and an album.. it is a concert and a drama.. it is real life and fabrication. It is about the stalker and the stalked. It is the realisation of one man's madness. The music is blistering, the visuals engaging: it is the most watchable piece of art today. This is more than music and more than film. It is the post-modern Purple Rain. The Stourbridge Chronicle has already described it as "the most important milestone in cinematic history"; The New York Times' art correspondent said "If it was a hat, I would wear it"; Tony Wilson's ghost is reported to have whispered, "I wish I had thought of that". Entrepreneur and pop guru Alan Neilson wrote: "Isn't it great that Wispas are back." DIE SON! DIE! will be on general release at the end of August 2009. Best wishes from Miss H
