| Influences | Maybe it is genetic memory, but I remember, at some point, being very impressed by Norse rowing chants.
In this present incarnation, aside from Sgt. Pepper, most of my influences have been people I have had the pleasure to know and sometimes work with. I produced the first commercial recordings of Hadley Hockensmith (The Montereys), Jim Pulte, Moon Martin and The Disciples (later Southwind), all of which still blow me away. Great talents I have considered friends through the years include Steve Ripley, Mitch Ballard, Gary Talley, Pat Pattison, Marianne Osiel and Mimi Lange Johnston.I’ve been fortunate to meet and spend some time with some nice people including Fontaine Brown, Englebert Humperdink, B J Thomas, Sam Moore, Frankie Valle & the Four Seasons, Buck Owens, Don Rich and Gene Sullivan.
I’ve enjoyed meeting some really talented individuals in a lot of different fields. I think I’ve learned from, and been influenced by, most of them. Hell, you could be one of em! |
