God has had a big influence on me by showing me right from wrong. My wife has always been a good influence on me. Always stopping me from doing something stupid. Artist wise I would have to say that Kanye, Mos Def, Timabland, Dre, Talib, Paul Wall, have been a big influence on me on the music side of it.

I am a 23 year old father and husband who has been making music for almost half of my life. I was first introduced to music production when I was only 13. I started off using this program called Acid Pro which was cool but it only allowed me to use pre made loops. I was looking for something that would allow me to make a beat from scratch and that when I found Fruity Loops. I was able to be creative in ways I never imagined. It was like I was addicted because night and day I would sit in front of the computer and figure out the different ways to make a beat. Fruity Loops was primarily made for dance music so I would have these hip hop beats that sounded strange like it was a mix between hip hop and dance. Looking back I think that was funny because all you hear on the radio is hip hop mixed with dance.
After learning the ins and outs of of fruity loops I found myself getting bored with the sounds and technology. I was at a studio out in San Francisco when the producer showed me the different features of Reason 3. I was hyped when I saw all of the things that this new program could do so I went out and bought it. I spent around 1,000 dollars just getting the basics for a home studio. I bought a keyboard, mic, Reason 3, a book on how to use Reason, a M-audio pre amp, and some 100 dollar headphones. When I got home I was frustrated because this program wasn't as easy as Fruity Loops. I continued to use Fruity Loops for about a month before I sat down and started figuring out how to use Reason.
Once I got it down it was really easy for me to make a beat. The new technology was astounding and I fell in love with it right there. I've been making beats on Reason ever since and I currently use a fully loaded version. Why go out and buy all of the most expensive keyboards when you can download them for free?
