Ode To J Smith is Travis’s loudest, edgiest and most arresting record since their debut.
Written in 5 weeks and recorded in just 14 days, it’s the sound of a band re-born,
re-inspired and re-energised.
"On their sixth album, the band finally display a disregard for expectations and turn the
guitars up to 11."- Independent On Sunday.
"Flitting joyfully between gonzo rock opera (no, really), Silver Sun shining power-pop
and their Good Feeling debut, it's a joyous racket. Always better as underdogs, it's a
band whose only link to their past is great melodies. 8/10" - Planet Sound
"This album is certainly a rush. Their re-embrace of rock is a move forward, rather than
a step back – a return to form." - BBC Music
Ode to J Smith is out now on CD, Vinyl and digital formats in the UK. You can order the
album from this link
this is a dream that I had, appears only Fran (bad luck guys) There was evil times there were about 100 refugees in a church with a modern look, then there was wind thunder rain etc etc . Also there was a large alligator that was trying to eat people from outside the church , had a long tongue and put it through the holes of the door trying to eat us, people tried to cut his tongue but it was very big and strong that giant lizard. Then Fran made of hero and dont know from where he got this great power and with an ax he cut the tongue of the lizard, se le va la vida en ello all celebrate the death of the lizard and mourn the death of our hero fran.
The show at World Cafe Live was great! Have listened to your CDs for many years, but was first concert of yours that I've been to. It was a treat to listen to so many of my favorite songs live and in such an intimate setting and to hear the stories behind the songs. Vielen dank for the autographs, and was a pleasure to meet you guys.
Hope you enjoyed the tour and have a safe trip home.
Please please please come to Australia.. we miss you guys, having moved from the UK we miss all the UK acts we used to see so often.. and you guys were always in our top 3!! Stace xxxx
Thank you guys so much for posting the new videos on your MySpace!! I love all three of those songs- especially "More Than Us"!! The video of that song from Glastonbury '99 was so powerful, and the song is still just as powerful ten years later, in a small studio, with just Fran and Andy! I hope you two enjoy your New York shows!! And as much as I enjoyed the acoustic set, I can't wait for the day that I can see the whole band rock the house!! Take care of yourselves!! Lots of love from Atlanta, GA, USA!! Donna Mac :-)
Last night's show at Jammin' Java was the best show I've seen in years (even better than the full band at the 9:30 Club this past April)! Totally worth the 3-hour drive home. So nice to meet you guys. God bless you and your families, and thank you for all of the wonderful music.
You guys probably don't check this much; I mean, Facebook is the new king of social exploitation now, right?
Whether you get this or not, I just wanted to say that the concert you performed in Milwaukee exceeded my expectations. I enjoyed every moment of it. I loved how you made the audience feel like your friends, rather than just some fans.
So, thanks for a great show and many years of great music. Keep it up!
Hey guys just watching some concert clips from last year. I really miss you!!!! Come back to Europe. have gone to see some other bands but they're not as great as you!
