About me: "I'd rather be a failure at something I love than a success at something I hate." -- George Burns
"If there is no struggle, there is no progress." --Fortune cookie
"You must be the change you wish to see in the world." --Mohandas Gandhi
"Any sufficiently advanced technology is virtually indistinguishable from magic." --Arthur C. Clarke
"Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drink I feel ashamed - Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn't drink this beer, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself, "It is better that I drink this beer and let their dreams come true than be selfish and worry about my liver." --Deep Thought, Jack Handey
"God. My brilliance is now becoming a bit of a burden. Get back to me." --Dr. Cox, Scrubs
This is the fourth time I've written this profile now. As is always the case, it's vastly different. I change. A lot. Get over it.
The only constant is music. I love music, of all kinds... mostly. See my comments in the music section over to the left for more on that.
I'm also getting very much into body modification. At the time of writing this, I only have 3 piercings so far (Ears at 0 gauge and septum at 10 gauge), but plan on having more. Of course, before I do more piercings, I am going to start with my tattoos... lots of them. I'm addicted already, and I haven't even started getting them yet. This is not a good sign.
Aside from that, I'm a computer programmer and system administrator at work .... and then a real person outside of work. I go to bars, socialize with people, make friends, go to concerts, tinker with cars (I'm waiting to get my baby... a good old Bel Air...) etc etc. I generally don't need to find trouble, as it has an easy enough time finding me.
Oh yea, also, I'm Irish. If you couldn't tell. I look it, and act it. If that's a problem, bugger off.
You know beer well, and you'll only drink the best beers in the world.
Watered down beers disgust you, as do the people who drink them.
When you drink, you tend to become a bit of a know it all - especially about subjects you don't know well.
But your friends tolerate your drunken ways, because you introduce them to the best beers around.
You don't have to go to meetings to be an alcoholic. You should be proud to be whatever type of alcoholic you are, and don't let anyone stand in your way!
Haha the last time there was drunkenness, Caitlin was involved, and I STILL have bruises to prove it! haha. But that was.... almost 2 weeks ago, so you haven't missed out on much.
And true, I do now have your number. BUT last time I checked, phones work both ways. :)
Haha... naw, Joey, I'd never say you were full of shit! Unless I was drunk and mad at you for some reason... which I don't think would ever happen. The mad at you part, not the drunken-ness. Cause that happens more often than not! haha! How've you been? Havn't seen you in weeks!
Thanks, J, for coming out and supporting, bringing your gang, giving us an intro, and digging the music. Make sure we know when the next food and beer tasting is - we're in.
