About me: David Marks was one of the original founding members of the Beach Boys. He played a fundamental role in establishing one of the biggst bands in the world.
The Lost Beach Boy is his story - from his childhood spent living on the same street as the Wilsons, to his premature departure from the band and their eventual reunion.
Now, for the first time, David pieces together the complete history of this seminal group and their impact on the music world. Written with Jon Stebbins, this is a compelling and above all honest account of life with and without the Beach Boys.

Finished the book a couple weeks ago and thought it was great! It has got to be my favorite book about The Beach Boys that I've ever read. David had a very interesting and unique perspective which made for good reading. The ending with Brian at Hawthorne also made me shed a few tears. Very moving book, and anyone reading this who doesn't have it should definately pick it up!
Did the Lost Beach Boy lose some photos? Don't tell us there is no photographic evidence of all the good times spent in the Toby Carvery?
Thanks a million for the great night we had at the UK book launch party last month. Here's hoping the US launch is as successful. It should be.
Kindest regards, Brian and Jacqui
