   About The Mighty Lynch-Pins
We've just finished mixing down a few songs from our latest recording session at 250 Grand Studios in Oakland. We hope you enjoy 'em and tell your friends. Straight out of Oakland, it's "The Mighty Lynch-Pins. We write songs about life, love, dogs and death. With a bit of an old school country feel, it's hard to pin point just what kinda music we play. Very acoustic with a touch of the twang.

Costello is opening for the Police at the Hollywood Bowl at the end of the month in the same week as REM and the Cure. I saw Bruce late last year in Oaktown. Magic was my favorite album last year. My wife said I could go to something for my birthday. I am a huge Eddie Izzard fan so i went for that at the Kodak.

Agreed. You see how high I put them on my friends list. I changed to a straight ahead Elvis tune. If you missed the video I had the day before, check it out on You tube: Peter Gabriel, Michael Stipe and Natalie Merchant doing Red Rain...very cool.

Agreed but there is something wonderful about Costello and the Boss standing next to each other. I was actually looking for a Costello vid.

the new site is awesome!!! By the way, heard you playing my favorite Costello song on your site. Have you heard him do it with Fiona Apple? He plays behind her. I saw him on his vocal/accoustic/piano tour. He got the biggest response for that song because it was just him signing like across the stage from the mike and you could hear him barely than he came back up. It was friken amazing.

I thought you would enjoy this for some reason. This showed up on The Nipple Erectors (Shane MacGowan's latest group)'s site:

Please accept with no obligation my nonsexually harassing, potentially platonic Valentines regards as a token of my/our love, lust or friendship within a relationship that we may or may not choose to be monogamous, whilst understanding that the romantic sentiment that it signifies does in no way guarantee the success or progression of the said relationship over any length of time. Sharing some love for you on my site tonight and tomorrow.

You are quite welcome. Your music has so many beautiful blends of different styles that I will need to listen a few times but it is obvious that you have influences from various time period and that kicks ass.

I have a beautiful friend named Troy who left a message one December message that said "Joe is no longer with us". I sat at the message machine for about 5 minutes and then went over and played the "Wrong 'Em Boyo". The reason I bring Troy up is that he and I used to get loaded and watch Rude Boy at whatever damn hour we would get home at night. My favorite line of the movie is when Mick Jones turns around to the roadie who is playing around with his wires and says "get off the fucking stage". It pretty much became our life moto. Try it at a show.

There are Beatles fans who are John or Paul people and their our Clash fans who are Joe or Mick people. I am a John and Joe person and both deaths make me sad to this day.

Like I said musicans are the philospohers of our era, don't stop spreading yours.

Jun 5 2007 3:29 AM

Come celebrate June 6 with Montana Slim, Spindrift and Crooked Roads at the Hotel Utah in SF this Wednesday.

Share your memories of June 6ths gone by--the lack of gifts, the absence of fireworks, the dearth of huge meals with visiting relatives.

We'll be celebrating this blessed day by debuting our new line-up which includes guitar virtuoso Larry Otis, who played with Commander Cody's Billy C. Farlow among many others, and pedal steel ace Peter Siegel.

If you've seen us before, we're even better now. (But don't wait for a later show, reasoning that we'll be even better then, because what if we're peaking right now?)

When: Wed. June 6, 9 pm
Where: The Hotel Utah Saloon, 500 4th St. @ Bryant, San Francisco
Who: Spindrift, Montana Slim, Crooked Roads

Crooked Roads: What if Hank Williams grew up listening to The Beatles?
