Among the most difficult of all the decisions we make throughout our lives are those that require determining which bridges to cross over and which bridges to leave behind.
In harmony with that thought, there is great difficulty in letting go and moving on over the metaphoric bridge of life, after loosing what we believe to be the derivative of all our happiness. It is at these very difficult and trying times of our lives that we grope for answers in an attempt to acquire a greater understanding of the more important matters of life.
Artistic expression has long since been said to be the tangible evidence of mankind’s ever continuing quest to comprehend his own existence. And for as much as that is true, this musical work of mine is a representation of my understandings of life, in association with the personal hardships I have faced, along with the many blessings I have also received, having reached the conclusion that life in this system does indeed consist of both good and bad, happy and sad.
It is an undeniable reality of life that due to time, chance and unforeseen occurrence things do not always turn out the way we may have once hoped.
It is also true that to the degree that one is permitted to experience the wonderful joys of life, so to one may equally experience the heavy hearted woes that life so often likewise encompasses.
Unfortunately, throughout the course of one’s life in this very imperfect system of things, it is not uncommon to experience the devastating effects of loss and the vulnerability of physical and/or emotional abandonment. And whether the sustained loss is perceived to have been avoidable or unavoidable, the final outcome remains the same namely, over whelming sadness, emotional injury and the startling realization of the fragility of happiness in the world in which we live.
Through out the most difficult and disquieting times of our lives, it is natural to want to remain in a safe place, keeping our feet firmly planted at the foot of the metaphoric bridge. But eventually we must all take steps toward letting go and crossing over into the undetermined future, keeping in mind that for every door slammed shut, several more will open up to us.
MY DERIVED CONCLUSIONS:
Although the very thing that has brought us so much happiness in life can be instantly swept away without warning, leaving behind a severely broken heart, if we are left with a single joyful memory of the past, then we are more fortunate then countless others who have never experienced happiness at all.
It is not always readily apparent why bad things happen to good people, nor do we have complete control over all that negatively impacts our lives. But one thing we do have however, is relative control over our personal attitude and how we choose to deal with the hardships that life may bring our way.
That being said, my derived conclusion to the matter of loss is this; May we cherish with all our might the very wonderful and special memories we hold dear to our hearts. For if our desire is strong enough, a cherished memory can be as real as reality itself.
My sincere hope is that this musical work of mine will provide a pleasant backdrop for your own cherished memories. It is also my intension by producing this compilation of songs to bring to those in need, escape through music and lyrics from deep inside the heart. May those who understand the depth of meaning behind the music find comfort in knowing that someone else understands and that you, are not alone.
In conclusion, a closing thought to all those who may be presently experiencing overwhelming sadness or severe emotional injury; Have faith and take heart, for all things will be made right at the appointed time. Know this, that there does indeed exist a magnificent God dwelling high above the circle of the earth who has a purpose for all mankind. A God of great love, justice, wisdom and power who provides hope even amid sorrowful times. No matter how difficult your life may appear to be, no matter how heavy your heart may feel at this very moment in time, do not give up! You will recover! There is yet an attainable, happy life that may be just ahead of you, on The Other Side Of The Bridge.
