The Strangelings launch their new website. Check out the new videos and photos and keep up on everything strange........... www.thestrangelings.net

Pete and Maura Kennedy always loved the celtic flavored rock of the 60s and 70s. When they found that they shared that fascination with three of their friends, alt folk musicians Ken Anderson and Rebecca Hall and songstress Chris Thompson, an idea was born. Why not form their own group to explore a new way to present the music they loved? The Strangelings sprang to life.

Cheryl Prashker has recently joined The Strangelings on drums, and newest member, Eric Lee, was discovered playing his fiddle at a campsite at the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival. By that Saturday night, Eric was playing with The Strangelings on the mainstage, and has since become an official member of the band.

Their signature piece “The Nuah Suite” is a chain of myth-based, enigmatic songs, a rich blend of goddess imagery and classical themes drawn from around the world, woven into a complex fabric that flows like an orchestral sonata. Think Jethro Tull meets Fairport Conventin while channeling Ravi Shankar

I love the Strangelings -- my favorite band playing some of my favorite music.

First there's Pete & Maura Kennedy, from the Kennedys.

Then there's Christina Thompson Lively, from Chris & Meredith Thompson. (Meredith sometimes plays with the Strangelings too.)

Then there's Rebecca Hall and Ken Anderson from Hungrytown.

For the chaser, there's Eric Lee and Cheryl Prashker.

I love the Strangelings, and if I can make it, "I'll Be There" -- !

The CD Season of the Witch has cast a spell on me. Everyone should have one. Then there'd be world peace, because we'd all agree on something. Gotta start somewhere. So why not take a stand right here where we are?

Hi, all! Well, we're mostly recovered from Falcon Ridge! What a whirlwind it was, and the most exciting news is not only the addition of Cheryl Prashker on drums, but we also "discovered" the incredible fiddler, Eric Lee, up on the hillside the first day of the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival, jamming around a camp-side song swap! He's now an official memeber of the band, and we're so psyched about that! Stay tuned for more Strangelings info!
