Timmy has been haunting the Boston music scene for almost five years while quietly making a name for himself as a prolific artist with solid stage presence. His songs are like looking around an old home when your host steps out of the room. They are artifacts that speak for themselves, like an expensive vase filled with dirt or a piece of string tied between a frantic mind and a quiet heart. They are filled with the honesty of first thoughts and threaded with orange humor.
Drawing on influences like Gillian Welch, Jeffery Foucault, The Shins and They Might Be Giants, Timmy’s acoustic music seems to find a home in Roots, Americana, and the Blues while showing flashes of his interest in Classical Guitar, Jazz and Pop. His voice is distinctive. Mentioned in the same breath as Randy Newman or Tom Waits, it is filled with a certain sadness and careful hoping.
Don’t listen to Timmy’s songs if you want the world spelled out for you. He specializes in questions and gestalt, in simple observations and quiet reflections.
