T-DUBB born Timothy White is a native of Newport News, VA. He is a very unique rap artist with a very unique rap style. His style is a blend of southern hip hop and east coast hip hop. He has a very energetic rap style that will get you out of your seat and have you saying "I'm Fresh" or have you glad you're "Back In Da Hood". He tells finely detailed stories with beats straight from the belly of the south. DJ Jack of Spadez from 103 Jamz has quoted this about his music, "This is the type of music we make in VA".
T-DUBB always had music in his blood. His father "The Soul Super Jay" is a very popular DJ in the Hampton and Newport News areas and has been DJing over the past 40 years. He also has brothers in the music industry (Jr., Murda Squad, I Man, Damon). T-DUBB started rapping at the age of 9 years old, when he entered a neighborhood rap contest and won. Since then, he has been working very hard at perfecting his craft. On the way of doing so, he has had multiple songs such as I'm Fresh, Do You Love Me, Bad Newz Connections, Show Me, just to name a few air on 3 of his local radio stations (103 Jamz (VA), Hot 102.1 (VA), and 89.9 (Elizabeth City, NC). T-DUBB has won multiple talent contests at the Virginia House of Comedy in VA Beach, Virginia which led him to the opportunity to open up for Boyz II Men, Young Leek, and Dem Franchise Boyz. He has been featured on web sites such as VASwagger.com, FearlessRadio.com, Dmusic.com, TheBestJams.com to name a few. He has had at least 6 songs circulating in clubs along the east coast. In 2007, he was nominated for at the Blendsville Awards for Best Producer, and also nominated at the Hood Platinum Awards for Best Group when he was grouped with Black Spadez. He also performs at the East End Day Parade every year in the East End area of Newport News which is an event that celebrates the achievements of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and promote unity within the community of East End Newport News. He is currently promoting his 8th mix tape which is entitled "2 Crunk 4 Da Game", the title explains itself. It has 18 very hot songs. It describes what people do for the "Love of Money" and how we don't say what's up anymore we say "Yerp". The other 7 mix tapes that he has released have sold over 10,000 copies in the locally and online.
Not only is he a rap artist he is also a CEO, engineer of a recording studio, and a producer. He is the CEO of Lightz Out Entertainment. T-DUBB said he sets out to be the person that shows the world that VA has a lot of talent no longer waiting to be seen. He feels there were some very talented entertainers from VA that made it mainstream but there is still so many other talented individuals looking for the opportunity to make it. To him Lightz Out Entertainment is going to be the next major label to really come out and showcase what Virginia has to offer. Not only does he want to get into the music industry but he also has a clothing line in the works which will open up opportunities for models to be showcased exposed. He also plans to venture out into other things that will change the way we look at music forever.
T-DUBB feels music is just another way to tell a story. Who doesn't like to hear a good story? Music is his way of getting the problems he has in his life off of his chest. He also loves to party so when it comes to party music T-DUBB has it for you. His hard hitting southern style beats and his rap flow just makes you want to get loose in the club. T-DUBB is on a mission to show the world what he has to offer and will not stop until he feels his story is told.
