    The Media Loves Our Jams!

VIDEO: Tools of War Presents The True School Park Jam / 6.04.09 by Mark Carrenceja of Noisemaker Media

NEW YORK TIMES: "Park Jam Series Brings Hip-Hop to New Generation" by Dave Gonzalez

"Summer isn't over until Tools of War stops bringing you free DJ parties in city parks."- deadlymelody.com

"Enter Tools of War, an organization on a mission to bring back the inclusive spirit of the earliest hip-hop. Among their various activities, they throw parties in New York City much like the ones in the late 70s and early 80s that started it all." - http://pitchfork.com

"DJs have been the backbone of the movement that has since transcended music and stamped its presence on the mainstream consciousness. Events such as Tools of War's Turntablist Sessions ... are positive parties that stress the importance of the DJ while celebrating the culture it helped create." - Queens Tribune

"Summer park jams in New York are as old as the art form itself. This year, event promotion/publicity company Tools of War has teamed up with various sponsors...to throw a series of parties that not only bring the elements together, but feature many of the classic artists that helped birth hip-hop." - plugonemag.com

".... make your lifelong old-school hip hop dream a reality with the Tools of War-curated free park jams...promises to be the ultimate old school summer you never had! yes yes y'all... to the beat y'all.." - newyorknighttrain.com

About Tools of War grassroots Hip Hop
Tools of War, co-founded by Jorge "Fabel" Pabon and Christie Z-Pabon, was named with the idea that there are many "tools" one can use in competing/battling within Hip Hop culture: turntables, microphones, paint, one's body, and especially one's voice (and so on)! Although the name might appear aggressive, the intent behind it's use is actually to inform and educate people regarding not only Hip Hop but many other social and political issues. As we grow, we are finding that it has also become a forum for voicing opinions and sharing ideas which might help in unifying and uplifting people all over the world. Services: publicity. events. consulting. promotions. booking. most thorough grassroots Hip Hop newsletter!

Christie Z-Pabon
Tools of War, Publicist, Events Coordinator, DJ Battle Specialist, Consultant

In essence, Christie Z-Pabon's professional efforts are based on communication, unity and community. The weekly Tools of War grassroots Hip Hop Newsletter, keeping thousands informed of local, national and international events and issues, began as a simple email alerting friends about choice underground Hip Hop events going on around NYC. As a publicist specializing in Hip Hop culture, Christie Z-Pabon's e-blasts get the word out, not only to the press, but they go one step further and reach stores and individuals, overstepping the media's role as taste maker and gate keeper of information. She only accepts commissions to publicize artists, books, albums and services that Tools of War truly believes are quality and authentic. Christie Z is also the specialist you go to when you want your DJ battle or Hip Hop event done right. Her attention to detail, high standards and insistence on authenticity has led her to consult on and coordinate many of the most important DJ Battles held in the US since 1998 including the DMC US Battles 1998-2000, The Allies All-Star Beatdown, Vinyl Kombat, King or Queen of the Beat Producer Battle (with Jazzy Jay) and Roc Raida's Gong DJ Battles. Recently, she accepted returned to DMC to coordinate the 2008 DMC American Battleground and run it's branch in the USA. Christie's other passion is throwing true school Hip Hop park jams in the New York City Parks. Since 2003, she's coordinated The Crotona Park Jams (Bronx), Turntablist Sessions, Digger's Delight (Harlem) and Harlem Hop. All the jams are free to the public and are intended to restore true Hip Hop culture and the legends who kicked it off back to the NYC Parks where they first rocked!
