Canadian Tracy Thomas began her professional acting career at the age of nine. By eighteen, Tracy had become a very prominent young actress in the Canadian theatre scene and had gained critical acclaim for her stage performances in productions such as West Side Story, The Secret Garden, Anne of Green Gables, and Hamlet. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting from the University of Alberta: one of the best BFA Acting Programs in North America. Upon graduation, she went on to perform at the two largest repertory theatres in North America: The Stratford Festival and The Shaw Festival where she performed in Twelfth Night, Henry V, The Seagull, Caesar and Cleopatra, and Merrily We Roll Along. Tracy starred alongside Dan Aykroyd, Dave Foley, and Dave Thomas in the feature film “Intern Academy,” and with Daniel Baldwin and Leslie Hope in the feature film “Double Frame.” She's had guest spots on Canadian hit series "Corner Gas" and "Mentors." Tracy also played the lead female role in the award-winning short film "Loose Ends," directed by X Dean Lim (Fox's On The Lot). In January and February 2008, Tracy performed as Margot in the U.S. premiere Dreams of Anne Frank, at the Lewis Family Playhouse. At the end of this month, Tracy will be performing in The BFG with the same theater company.
As a singer, Tracy also had a childhood career in musical theater and opera. She began to play guitar and write songs when she hit her late teens. Tracy has composed over 50 songs in the genres of rock, pop, folk and jazz. She was the lead singer and electric guitarist for the Canadian rock band, Crimson Chaos, which had interest from Sony Music in Los Angeles. She performed with the band for three years, during which time they recorded two albums. Tracy then branched out into the House and Progressive world and joined up with renowned Canadian DJ, DJ Jaspa, to co-write songs, one of which was released on DJ Jaspa's album, "A Long Time Coming." Over the last few years in Los Angeles, Tracy has performed at The Knitting Factory, BB Kings on Universal City Walk, Malibu Vineyard, Calvary Community in Westlake, Vineyard Xtreme, Awakenings Coffee House, The Hub Theatre, and many more locations. Tracy Thomas currently performs with her rock band in the Los Angeles area on weekends, and, with her husband, is currently recording their first album together, which is set for release in Spring 2008.
