This young talented boy, Clement “Trancemicsoul” Phaswane was born in Atteridgeville, Pretoria. Clement, or better known as Trancemicsoul by many across the globe, started his house music journey in the early 90’s. His love for house music started in high school (grade 9), at social events held at his school. Trancemicsoul grew up watching and listening to a lot of dj’s that came to his school to spin some of their deepest tunes at these events.
His love for house grew, and before he knew it, he started buying 12″ vinyls from his savings. Just like any other dj, he started off as a bedroom dj, mastering and teaching himself the wheels of steel. In 2002 he had gained more confidence on the wheels of steel and had mastered the art of mixing, and he started playing at parties and at some of his school events.
He completed his matric in 2005 and he was about to choose which field to follow, and surprisingly he choose to study Sound Engineering. Then in the early 2006, Trancemicsoul started his 1st year @ Allenby now known as Damelin. He started to make friends with some of the industries underground catz around Sunnyside and Hatfield (Pretoria). Late 2006 Trancemicsoul decided to explore some of Sound Engineering around Johannesburg, and he finally found one!
Early 2007 he packed his bags and went straight to the city of gold (Johannesburg) to further his studies. “Jimmy goes to Joburg”! Based on the knowledge he had, he was 1 step ahead and he was steal trying to master everything about music.
Late 2007 he met other underground producers from the same school, and that’s when the game became more interesting. The more interesting the game became, the more he pushed himself to the boundaries of music, sometimes he pushed himself so deep that most people got lost when they heard him play or heard his production.
Early 2008 he was signed by a Japanese label called Fountain Music. He was to release his 1st EP ever and he didn’t waste time at all, before he knew it, The Trance..lation EP was out internationally and rocking on the dance floors. The EP consists of 4 banging tracks namely: A Lesson To Learn, A Call From Dad, Soulful Swirl and Oscillator. Just after his 1st release on Fountain Music, he then got lucky once again to release on a South African label called Motswako Underground. He released Fragile EP which consists of 3 smash tunes namely: Fragile Heart, Save The Last Kiss and I’m Fallin...
Middle 2008 he attended the South African Music conference. It was 1 hell of experience for him; he met the industries top dogs and even 2 most top international producers namely: Rocco & Manoo. He gave Rocco 1 of his EP..s (The Trance..lation), and before he knew it, Rocco unleashed this smash tune at the after parties of this event. That’s where Trancemicsoul got his breakthrough. He was now noticed by Vinny Da Vinci & Christos.
Late 2008 there was a Harrison Crump competition under Soul Candi Records. Trancemicsoul only knew about this competition on the closing date. He submitted his mix just like any upcoming producer, through the power of GOD, he was chosen as 1 of the winners. Once Again (Remixes) included Rocco remixes and the second part included South African mixes in which Trancemicsoul Mix was included.
He was 1 of the few to be scouted by an international guru by the name of Stax also know as Abicah Soul. Abicah Soul discovered Trancemicsoul in the late 2008 through a demo Trancemicsoul sent to him titled Ancestral Nights. This piece is a joint that is so calm and it’s like a ritual, yet it has a spirit filled with surprising rhythm of joy, love and happiness.
Ancestral Nights was released under Abicah Soul Recordings in 2009, and since then Trancemicsoul has been on the spotlight across the globe. He is regarded as the last born of Abicah Soul Recordings family, through music. Middle 2009 he was getting some remix requests.
Now Trancemicsoul is singed under the following labels: Abicah Soul Recordings (USA), Shanga Digital (USA), Nu Deep Music (France) & Fountain Music (Japan). Up to date, Trancemicsoul has been working with numerous international labels and he continues to stretch the boundaries…
