Oranges, fly swatting, summertime, beer, trees, anchors, smells, music, jeans, chocolate, laughing, people, graveyards, bicycles, soup, coffee, scrap metal, other bands, record players, broken strings, messages, sharp suits, shiny boots, no cigarettes, no matches - these are just some of the things that went into the formation of Vandeville Falls.
The band is made up of musicians who came together through friendship and happy accident, bringing with them a mix of styles to form the Vandeville sound. They play and write music they love and if others do too then that’s a bonus.
Vandeville Falls are now firmly based in London after realising that it was deeply impractical (not to mention painfully expensive!) to be traveling from Jennys Yorkshire home town of Mexborough to the capital to rehearse and perform.
Vandeville Falls are now regulars on the London gigging circuit, playing both full band line ups and special acoustic shows as a slimmed down 3 piece, to ever growing audiences. The band’s debut album, Ten Years Of Talk In Mexico City, is due for release in 2009. The album has been produced by Ian Grimble (The Cranberries, Texas and The Manic Street Preachers).
