Venga Digital - Fine Purveyors of futureproof music.
Okay so now that Venga Digital is 18 releases old, what have we learned about this set of humble lads from Burnley? (....where??)
Headed up by electro pest Liam Vizzle, the label has come along way since its first release Rustler - This is Not a Drill released in May 2008.
Originally launched as a side project to the clubnight Venga, the label proved to surpass its humble origins, to sit - a little over a year later - right next to the heavyweights in the Electro industry. Accolades and praise from Industry and Radio peeps, bloggers, Bedroom and A List DJs alike ensure that the label is making waves, to the people that matter.
Not that the label forgets the people that make the industry tick... Venga Digital actively promotes unsigned talent, and personally responds to every demo sent in - and where possible, gives a shout out to the best on the Venga Digital blog, honouring those tracks the deserve a leg-up but that are no quite there in terms of making it to release stage.
And the future?? Well 2009 has already featured a Mightyfools EP and a Kelevra EP - so aswell as championing new talent, the credibility of the label is now attracting bigger more established names!
