This project brainstormed by Chris Cady and Tom Gorder of Agent Cooper Concepts started as something of an experiment of "avant whatever we want" infusion of folk,punk,spoken word,acid movie soundscape instrumental music,comedy, and whatever else came up in the name of original art. At the turn of December of '06, Violent Hippie has since evolved into a live minamalist progressive rock band, with Shawn Funk on drums and percussion. We are preparing to record our first studio album this March, and have tentative release scheduled for late spring of '08. Shows and tours will be happening, so keep checking back for updates. Art Alley friends are as diverse as America; as diverse as the art in Art Alley. But we’ve something in common. We see a value in art with less restraints, even art with varying qualities. There is some power in this diversity and you are part of that power.
Art Alley has been threatened in the past and may very well be again. What those threats might be we can not know. It is controversial and as you can imagine some wish to change or eliminate it. If that happens we hope your voice will be heard.
