The Wyvern Dance Band is a long established band originating in Somerset and currently based in Andover, Hampshire. Lead by Robin and Brenda Geard, the band provides a lively mix of live traditional folk music from various cultural sources including English, Scottish, Irish, European in general and the USA.
The music ranges from moving Airs and gentle Waltzes through easy listening and catchy sing-along tunes to fast and furious pieces guaranteed to get feet tapping and people dancing.
The band has seen many changes over the years and played in many and varied locations from private houses and village halls to larger venues such as Woburn Abbey, Glyndebourne and the Kensington Hilton. Now based in Andover, Hampshire, Robin and his band continue give dancers evenings filled with fun and plenty of good dancing.
Collectively, the band boasts a wide diversity of musical experience among its players spanning traditional folk, country dancing, jazz and rock styles. As the Wyvern Dance Band, a wide range of good traditional music is guaranteed and of course, the band has it's own experienced callers for barn dances.
The Wyvern Dance Band is available to perform at social events throughout Central Southern England.
