Sounds Like
A human voice rabbiting on about all manner of nonsense but actually has a vague narative in there somewhere and possibly a deep and profound truth hiding in it if you can manage to pick up up amongst all the bollocks and tripe.
Alan Whittaker aka The Wizardmarra, has for the past few years been developing a new kind of storytelling, drawing from the rich vein of traditional material and contemporary culture in all its forms and has woven these elements into a breathtaking mix of storytelling and stand-up comedy. “People are more sophisticated these days. We are used to instant stories on television, fact, fiction and vast action packed epics on the cinema screen told with computer generated special effects.” How does a storyteller compete? The Wizardmarra doesn’t, he just does it better. His performances are non-stop whirlwind shows that leave you breathless and talking about them for days. No storytellers chair for Alan, if he had one he’d only climb on it, jump off crawl under it then possibly wear it! Instead The Wizardmarra sings, dances, leaps and spins tales take you on a roller-coaster of laughter and spellbound awe, occasionally scaring the pants off you with the scariest tales you’ve ever heard. “Stories are for everybody, not just children. We all have them woven into the warp of our lives and the weft of the stories of our families, friends, community and mankind. We need them. We are stories!”
