   About Wizardmarra
Alan Whittaker aka The Wizardmarra, has for the past few years been developing a new kind of storytelling, drawing from the rich vein of traditional material and contemporary culture in all its forms and has woven these elements into a breathtaking mix of storytelling and stand-up comedy. “People are more sophisticated these days. We are used to instant stories on television, fact, fiction and vast action packed epics on the cinema screen told with computer generated special effects.” How does a storyteller compete? The Wizardmarra doesn’t, he just does it better. His performances are non-stop whirlwind shows that leave you breathless and talking about them for days. No storytellers chair for Alan, if he had one he’d only climb on it, jump off crawl under it then possibly wear it! Instead The Wizardmarra sings, dances, leaps and spins tales take you on a roller-coaster of laughter and spellbound awe, occasionally scaring the pants off you with the scariest tales you’ve ever heard. “Stories are for everybody, not just children. We all have them woven into the warp of our lives and the weft of the stories of our families, friends, community and mankind. We need them. We are stories!” .. ..

Check out both the two bands below this comment. Flutatious and Barking at Butterflies. One who is on the Drystone this year and features on my current podcast, the other who was just too late to get a space this year, but who are extremely good and worth a listen.

THANKS FOR THE AD, Hang on it's my page anyway!

A laal poem marra...Couldn't sleep all last night til i wrote it!!!

Thou Nature ARt My Goddess...

Can you hear the Faeries laughing!?
Its a Cosmic Joke! - Hee hee hee!
Respect the Flowers beneath your Feet
and Twyleth Teg this Will be...

Some Faeries sprinkle their Sparkley Dust,
in Rainbows wherever they go...
With Cosmic Clocks they Dance and Spin,
cos as the Oldest Story Ever goes,
This is Eden we're Dreaming In...

So En Lachech Ala Kin,
This is Eden we're Dreaming, so
Respect the Flowers Beneath Your Feet
and your Magic it will Forever Grow...

Eve

eden

With Love this Will Forever Be,
the Song of the Apple
that fell from the Tree.
It's a Cosmic Joke, you see!
Can you Hear the Faeries Laughing?!?

...and I'm so glad that the joke was on me!

- thanks for the inspiration to all those weaver of dreams!... ff x

Hey Alan!
Just a quick message to remind you and the rest of the committee that us Solfest punters think you do a fantastic job and run the best bloody festival on this isle!

Hope your not taking the criticism of tixmob as a reflection on Solfest, by August this will all be a distant memory!

At least the poor ladies at the Carnegie are getting a bit of a rest this year!

See you soon mate.
