Born and raised in Brooklyn New York to a Baptist Pastor Austin Wilder and a legendary Gospel singing Evangelist the Late Great Anna Pleasant.

Youman Wilder got his start singing in the Baptist Church at the his uncles church The Friendship Baptist Church where the Bishop Mitchell Hudson has headed his flock for almost 25 years.

Breaking out and performing At the Legendary Apollo Theater where he would win the Amateur Nite shows 10x and then became a Apollo Theater Staple singing at the legendary Harlem hot spot over 100x

Youman has built a reputation as one of the best live performers on the Contemporary R&B and Traditional Jazz circuits.

With the ability to switch from Swing to Blues to Bop to Hip Hop to Gut Bucket Soul Shouting Wilder can and has done it all.

Wilder recently returned from Japan and Cairo where he performed straight ahead jazz and fusion funk.

He shocked Japanese audience with a robust salute to Puccini singing a flawless Tenor Aria of the Puccini classic "Ne sun Dorma"from Turandot

Wilder finished the sold out shows funking to James Browns classic "Say It Loud I'm Black and I'm Proud" And also showcasing some of his original material.

Always known as a singer with an original approach, and a reputation as a humanitarian,Wilder blends Funk,Soul,Jazz with social commentary with out being vicious.

Touring Europe he and his wonderful and Weird Stories were a huge success in the UK,Berlin,Hamburg, Amsterdam and Paris.

They played 70 shows to standing room only audiences.

The 10x Apollo Theater Amateur Nite Winner has become one of the best and most In demand concert performers. Even Winning the Swedish Jazz Festival's Best New Artist Award

Crossing all musical boundaries Wilder can sing and embrace all terms of musical taste whether Jamming with Prince on stage in New York City or singing a beautiful Puccini classic Youman Wilder has become a conscience of what music should be and is constantly changing and growing.

Currently Mr Wilder is on tour in Canada bringing down the house on a wonderful 20 day tour that will then bring him back to NYC in March.

He is set to spend the spring and summer putting together his CD of Jazz and Contemporary R&B

Youman then heads to Africa to help 5 countries distribute AIDS medication and will perform in the Nation of Cameroon March 24-27

    Its been hectic here in London,but I am starting to get use to the Britist culture.

    Daddy thank you for always praying for me and always being that one person I can always count on you.
