Young Dyme grew up in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn, New York. Although she was always at the top of her class, she always expected more from herself. Young Dyme would set goals that she wanted to achieve. She set out to achieve them weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly depending on what the goal consists of.
Young Dyme began rapping when she was about 9. “I didn’t really know what I was doing. I just seen my brother and my cousins doing it, and that was that.” Young Dyme remembered. Young Dyme use to write 2 bars choruses and 4 to 8 bars verses.
Young Dyme can now do many of the things that rappers pay other people to do. These things includes, but are not limited to the following: create album covers, write her own songs, produce her own beats, create her own and others music videos, and engineer mostly all her songs. Many people on myspace now asks Young Dyme about doing collaborations. “I’m willing to work with any artists that’s determined, have potential, and that have a different fan base than my own.” Young Dyme said. Many people have Young Dyme hit single “Slap Dat” on their page. “I receive beats from producers left and right that’s why my song which features Bray Bray ‘Whats Ya Myspace’ I cant even use because I don’t know who made the beat.” Young Dyme tells people who say she should really put that song out there.
Young Dyme has stated that: “Many people confuse influences with artists that they listen to.” Young Dyme has been rapping for a while off and on, so her only influence is really her brother, Premo Da Great.
