About me: Yuchi Cordoba is a percussionist and a man passionate about Life. He was born in Curacao from Antillian/Colombian parents and is a legend when it comes to saving the Afro-Curasolean music, especially (musik di zumbi) which he has performed with ISSOCO!
Yuchi credits his success as a percussionist to his deep respect for mother earth, harmony, team work, his youthful curiosity and love for children and an openness to people and their cultures.
An early study of Agriculture Farming landscape and Gardening aroused this immense respect and inspiration for mother earth, and it's simplicities, like how a flute and other musical instruments can be made out of calabash and bamboo.
Yuchi's first musical influences came via Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple and YES, Emerson Lake and Palmer. The power in this music can still be heard and felt in his hands today! His years playing soccer for the national team Centro Dominquito of Curacao taught him about teamwork and his strength.
Yuchi lends his services and support to all kinds of musical groups. His philosophy about saying Yes to everything is that he gets back a big experience. Sharing is Freedom and with this philosophy, Yuchi reaches out to artists, youth, businesses, students, and workshop participants.
He has started a non- profit organization to offer workshops and classes in music and how that translates in to talent, team building, empowerment and joy for children from 8 to 88.

teacher for the project Comparsa at SWA (Foundation for the Welfare of Antillians) and Art Education Foundation (SKV Rotterdam) as well as several elementary schools and schools for lower preparatory education in Amsterdam.
