"American Loser" - the novel 's Blurbs |
About me:
Welcome to the official MySpace site for the novel "American Loser".
"American Loser" is the viciously funny and pointed account of the life of Mike Stevens. Doomed from birth, the story chronicles his slow slide deeper into the abyss. When he finally hits bottom, what will he do? Will he turn his life around and find classic American redemption in the tradition of AA and becoming born again? Or will he break through the bottom into a world of even deeper misery? Or will he take a third path, that of the metaphorical road less traveled?
Inspired by the Existential romps of Jean Paul Sartre and the high madness of Hunter S Thompson, William Burroughs, and Irvine Welsh, "American Loser" is a drunken crazed midnight joyride through the dark back streets of modern-day American society that will amuse, horrify, and entertain.
About the author:
Steve Zakszewski (the charming rogue in the picture) is a resident of Somerville, MA. "American Loser" is his first novel, a four year work in progress.
When not writing, he is the Technical Director for the show "The Magic of Lyn", starring America's premier female illusionist, Lyn Dillies and Lighting Designer for the Moscow Circus, touring the US with both shows.
Steve is a lifelong Red Sox, Patriots, and Bruins fan, considers New Orleans his second home, and can whip up one hellacious jambalaya. Steve is single and prefers cats to dogs.
In addition to "American Loser", Steve has three other novels in the works.

Who I'd like to meet:
After many many months of being on hiatus, once again I am working on American Loser, and estimate that it will be shaped up and ready for publication by August 2009.
Currently I am entertaining offers from literary agents and publishing houses. If you are interested in either representing my work or publishing it, please contact me at stevezak@gmail.com
In the meantime, I appreciate everyone's patience.
