Crazy Loop is Dan Balan's second personality, an alter-ego that comes out of nowhere when it's time to entertain people. Dan Balan is a Moldavian singer, composer and producer based in New York. His biggest success to date was with the pop band O-Zone. He was the front man of this project, producing and writing all of their compositions. Dan formed O-Zone in 1999 and released three albums through 2004. Their best-selling LP was "DiscOzone", which reached 1 in six countries and sold over 2.5 million copies worldwide (1 million in Japan alone).
Dan's most successful song to date is "Dragostea din tei", also known as the "Numa Numa” song, which reached 1 on the charts in 32 countries (and 3 in the U. K.). The Record sold 12 million copies worldwide and was the best selling single in Europe and Japan in 2004 and 2005, respectively. More than 100 artists worldwide covered the song in 12 different languages. Another O-Zone hit, "Despre Tine", reached 1 in five countries and topped out at 6 in the main European Chart.
In 2004, Dan split from O-zone to return to his rock roots. He moved to Los Angeles with the best musicians in his region the next year. For the next two years, the band worked to get a signature sound and their own captivating style. The album was recorded in April/June of 2006 at the Ocean Way Studios in Los Angeles. At the same time, Dan Balan has been working on a crazy pop-dance project especially for the fans that were eager to hear about Dan's come back in the dance music arena. This new project is named "Crazy Loop", after the name of his character that appears in this project. Why "Crazy"? Why "Loop"? No one knows why "Loop" but soon everyone will find out why "Crazy".
