My influences are across the board, but I try to only use enough of each element to keep my music sounding a bit different, and not to pay homage to a particular style I like to hear

I am mainstream electronica pop/dance music, but I don't write according to any formula, like trance, house, disco Etc. I just like to create a fun, danceable sound, that you can dance to if you feel like it, but also just kick back and listen to as well.
My biggest drawback is that I'm in Texas, the land where the "live band" is still considered the way to do things.
The notion that a computer, software and knowing how to use them can enable me to completely do away with a "studio" is beyond comprehension for most people.
They still equate "top of the line, professional" with the "old, out of date" hardware studio with a huge mixing board and tape machine.
For those who've made it, it's good so many think this, because it means they will never be able to record professional sounding material like NIN, LInkin Park, Beyonce all of whom use computer recording set ups to do their stuff.
