My name is Leslie, I am 26 and live in Cape Coral, FL. My partner and I recently bought our first home and are branching out in quite a few directions now that we have our own place. My reach extends into the world of e-commerce with my eBay store venture, and more recently, my handmade crafts on Etsy.com. Let me give you a little background and information on each of my current ventures.
First, my eBay store, The Sapphire Moon. I began selling on eBay back in 2004 after being a buyer for several years. I started small, selling plus size clothing from my own expansive wardrobe as my tastes changed (or my size changed! LOL!) or I found that I simply did not wear an item that much to warrant keeping it around taking up space. The response to my lower than average prices, fast shipping, and ethical business practices was OVERWHELMINGLY positive! I kept listing more items from my closet for a few more weeks, then moved on to purchasing retail items to pull in customers looking for brand new items and hard to find sizes and styles. Until this year, I was dealing exclusively in plus sizes for women only. Earlier this year I found there was a great demand for big and tall men’s clothing, and began selling these items as well. I also sell accessories such as purses, wallets, and shoes. Larger sized, wide width shoes have been my main focus. Of course I still list a few odds and ends like household items, health and beauty items, toys, children’s clothing and shoes, and electronics. I list new auction items WEEKLY, many items starting at or below 9.99. My storefront is open for shopping 24/7, almost every item with a Best Offer feature…make me an offer, I most likely will not refuse! My second venture is a very recent one; I have just started up The Sapphire Moon for craftworks on Etsy.com. This website specializes in ONLY handmade items and has only been around for about 2 years. Registered members on Etsy.com can buy and sell one of a kind handicrafts in a similar environment as eBay. I have always been creative since I was a young girl. My first crafts being beaded bracelets when I was 8! Since then, I have gotten into making flower head wreaths, hemp jewelry, wind twirlers, and beaded cell phone charms. Many of these items mentioned will be available in my store soon.
