By 1989 Jeff Pike had developed an enormous following in his hometown of Atlanta, Georgia with his one man tribute to Jimmy Buffett. The First of it’s kind. In 1991 Jeff formed A1A and in 1992 after winning a Jimmy Buffett Sound Alike Contest for Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville Records, Jeff Pike and A1A became "The Official and Original Jimmy Buffett Tribute Show", now internationally renowned. As the first band ever to showcase a high-energy 4-hour concert composed of nothing except Buffett’s best songs, spanning every era of his career, A1A became the only band personally sanctioned by Jimmy Buffett himself. While countless other bands have followed in A1A’s wake and even cited them as their main inspiration, A1A remains the FIRST and foremost Jimmy Buffett Tribute Show. Jeff has appeared with Jimmy Buffett onstage in concert, in an MTV Video and on record. A1A’s first CD which featured Jimmy’s harmonica leader and part time A1A band member Greg "Fingers" Taylor, was produced by Jim Mayer, Jimmy’s bass player. The bands second CD featured Jimmy’s saxophone player and band leader Amy Lee. A1A has been joined onstage often through the years by Robert Greenidge, Michael Utley, Fingers Taylor and Peter Mayer. Jeff’s first partner in A1A, Scott Nickerson, started the first Parrot Head Club and PHIP in 1988. A1A was the first and only band to headline the annual Jimmy Buffett Parrot Head Convention (Meeting Of The Minds) seven years in a row, from 1993 to 1999, which Scott and The Atlanta Parrot Head Club also founded.
