I'm passionate about sports and especially football, at the tender age of 36 I still think I can play too. Always had an intersest in music, unfortunately as an appreciative listener rather than a player. Love travelling and have had the opportunity to visit many countries in my life, still got China, India and Russia on the list to visit though. My big love in life other than my family is the mighty Fulham Football Club. 25 years this December since my first game at Craven Cottage, even though a combination of cost, time and location keeps me away from the Cottage these days.
Music
Could go on for hours naming bands, I'll give anything a listen. Love rock bands like Led Zep, Deep Purple and Pink Floyd, enjoy Motown and 70's funk, Fatback Band, James Brown, Marvin Gaye, The 80's electric era is always high on the playlist, Kraftwork, Human League, Depeche Mode, Ultravox, New Order, Joy Division, in fact the 80's as a whole is right up there. 90's Indie/Brit Pop or whatever you want to call it, Stone Roses, Oasis, Blur, but my big passion is, and will always be, the Mod revival bands 78-83ish, The Specials, The Selector, The Beat, Madness and all.
Movies
Bit like my musical taste, I could go on for hours naming films. All the usual bloke films are in there, Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Scarface, The Godfather. Sport/bloke films with ID, Fottball Factory, old war films, Kelly's Heros, Dirty Dozen, love the SE Asian culture and will watch any films from that area. Love some of the 70's rock operas, Tommy, The Wall, The Greastest R&R Swindle and of course Quadrophenia.
Television
Not a big fan of television, pay for a full Sky TV package and yet dont watch hardly any of it. Will watch any sport and even watch Sky Sports News for hours on end, despite it generally being on a one hour loop. Like some of the history shows and especially WW2 documentaries.
Books
Reading has taken a back seat over most of my life with too many other things to do, but over the last couple of years I have started to read when possible. Bill Bryson is a big favourite especially A Short History of Almost Everything.
Heroes
Gordon Davies, Simon Morgan and Chris Coleman are my footballing heroes for their services to Fulham FC. Music heroes include Plant and Page, Joe Strummer, Terry Hall and Jerry Dammers, Pete Townsend, among many others. Big hero is Jimmy from Quadrophenia aka Phil Daniels, even though he is in bloody Eastenders now!
Well you spend hours pondering over what to write here remembering that friends, both new and old, will read this and decide whether you're worthy of adding. It's a fine balance between interesting and cheesy and you certainly want to end up on the favourable side.
You need to remind people of how classy and cool you are, your great sense of humour and kind caring nature. It's also imperative that you dont come accross as geeky and square, even though you spend half of your social life in front of a computer screen.
They can see from your carefully selected pictures that your looks are fading as you reach middle age kicking and screaming, but you still have that cheeky boyish charm and you scrub up alright. You've not lost too many of the old brain cells and can still hold an intelligent conversation.
So with all this in mind I sat here and ran out of space...
Who I'd like to meet:
Everyone and no-one inparticular, anybody who wants to chew the fat over sport, music, travelling or just general stuff then add me.
If you're just passing through then here is something to entertain you...
