Anything with Godzilla in it EXCEPT Godzilla Vs. The Sea Monster and Godzilla's Revenge. Anything with Ninja Turtles in it EXCEPT TMNT 2 & 3. Anything with Kate Beckinsdale (rowr) in it EXCEPT Underworld 1 & 2. Anything with David Hasselhoff in it ESPECIALLY "Nick Fury: Agent of Shield". Anything with the Rock in it EXCEPT those silly films where he's not beating the crap out of bad guys. Nothing with Kinda Gay vampires AND / OR people talking about feelings for more than 20 percent of the film. No coming of age stories EXCEPT Labyrinth. No Horror Porn. None! Move it along, buddy. Take your phallic knife stabbing a helpless half-naked chick and get lost. I ain't interested. Anything animated EXCEPT where the animation is too lifelike and kinda creepy in the process. I'm looking at you, Polar Express. Nothing where everybody dies in the end and I learn that life is bleak and pointless and we'd all have been better off not being born. I don't need to watch a movie to know that so push off, sunshine.
Television
SHOWS I LIKE: Kim Possible, Chuck, Reaper, Justice League Unlimited, Batman: The Animate Series, Superman: The Animated Series, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Law and Order: Meter Maid Patrol, and Generic Situational Comedy starring Clueless Lead Character and Wacky Neighbor. Oh, man, it's a hoot and a half! I know because I measured it on my hoot-o-meter.
SHOWS I DON'T LIKE: Heroes, Lost, 24, Desperate Housewives, pretty much everything on Sci Fi Channel.
Books
Tarzan: Lord of the Apes, The Return of Tarzan, The Beasts of Tarzan, The Son of Tarzan, Jungle Tales of Tarzan. (Noticing a pattern yet?) Also, the early MYTH books by Robert Aspirin, a whole lotta comic books (I'll be snookered if they'll ever get me to call 'em 'graphic novels'). And, of course, GIL'S ALL FRIGHT DINER, IN THE COMPANY OF OGRES, A NAMELESS WITCH, and THE AUTOMATIC DETECTIVE (coming soon!). I'd love 'em even if I didn't write 'em. Really, I would!
About me: Time to write a new "About Me" entry. Oh, yes, how exciting. So what's there to know about me? Good question. I'm assuming that if you're reading this, you already know everything interesting about me. I am A) a world-famous, award winning novelist and B) there is no B. Yes, I'm boring, but in my defense, you're probably boring too. So who are you to judge me? I don't need your pity!
Seriously (if I may get serious for a moment) I'm just a guy who gets paid to write and takes life as it comes. I consider myself introspective, intelligent, philosophical, and very attractive. Yes, I'm a handsome man and have no trouble admitting that. I'm also a talented writer and a fairly decent human being. Maybe about an 8 on a scale of 1 to 10. I have no problem tooting my own horn, but I also realize how insignificant we all are in the scope of things and think we're all here to help each other get through this thing called Life.
What more is there to say? Welcome to my MySpace page, and if you still are craving more Famous A. Lee Brand Excellence then might I suggest popping over to my official website www.aleemartinez.com.

Who I'd like to meet: People, Robots, and whatever other sentient life forms deign to make themselves known to me. I'm not picky. Maybe many of you aren't technically cool enough to actually hang around with me, but then again, I'm sure I fall short of cool points for many of you, too. So until the state issues our official Coolness Certification Badges, we'll just keep things informal.
First off, I'd love to meet any babies that laugh so hard that they fall over.
Also, anyone willing to eat dirt and wrestle a bear at night.

HIYA! So I kinda just jumped into babbling over in your blog before introducing myself, so here goes. My name's Krizzy, and I found my first Lee Martinez book about a month or two ago: Monster. Being an always-broke-college-student, I tried waiting for a paperback, but two visits later I just couldn't resist , and I bought it. I think I read it in like two sittings. I couldn't put it down! (I even got my boyfriend to read AND enjoy it, and he hates books!) So, obviously, I had to go back and buy more. I read A Nameless Witch and Too Many Curses, and I'm currently on In the Company of Ogres. I've really got to say, with you being a male (fantasy) writer and all, I love your female characters! A lot of times, especially in this genre, they're so one dimensional and leave a bad taste in my mouth. Reeeeeeally can't wait to start the others, and I'm excited about the new book too! :D
hello & thanks for adding me. i like your book, i got it friday from barnes & noble. they had to order it for me, they didn't have it in stock. i'll have to check out your other books. have a good day, all the best from the coast...
Hi. Thanks for adding me as a friend. I just wanted to let you know that my book came out last week to rave reviews and is now available on Barnesandnoble.com, Amazon.com. Thank you for your time.
It was definitely a one-sitting romp of a read. Or, rather, it would have been if I'd been there on Charlie's show instead of just borrowing his copy during the school day.
Hey! Futurama is back! They are reviving the series. It is supposed to be out in 2010. .....Oh my God. I was reading Monster, then I lost it. I thought someone had stolen it at work. I finally found it under the bed! LOL! What a dufus! Have a great day!
Hi Lee.Just dropping by to let you know I am still alive and enjoying your blogs. More power. And oh if you have the time, please visit my new blog www.celticmusicfan.wordpress.com and let me know what you thinks. Thanks buddy and enjoy the rest of the day .
What's wrong with Godzilla vs. The Sea Monster? It's got Godzilla. It's got a giant lobster. And at the end, Godzilla does an awkward cannonball into the ocean. I DEMAND AN ANSWER!
I'm with you on the no-unhappy-endings-thank-you. Honestly though, I dread the day they issue the Coolness Badges. I'm assuming the nerds of the world will be ready with a Logan's Run style work-around however. I'm on their side.
