About me:
Well we are in Richlands, Still stationed at MCAS New River. Chad is home from deployment, thank goodness, we bought our house and are slowly working on it.. One project at a time and one day at a time. I have made some new friends and am happy to be settled. I love our Neighborhood and am truely beginning to enjoy my life.
We say grace and we say Amen. If you ain't into that, we don't give a damn. - Hank Williams, Jr.
growing up southern is a privilege, really. it's more than where you're born, it's an idea and state of mind that seems imparted at birth. its more than loving fried chicken, football, beer, and country music. its being hospitable and devoted to screened porches, magnolias, red velvet cake, coca-cola... and each other. we don't become southern- we're born that way. ~hank williams, jr.
a southern girl is a girl who knows full and well that she can open a door for herself but prefers for the gentleman to do it because it demonstrates a sense of respect. after all, every girl wants to be treated like a princess. we know how to make sweet tea, grits and killer fried chicken, while swigging down a beer with the boys watching football. we pick our battles and fight with the heart of a pit bull while still maintaining grace and elegance. our mystique is that of a soft-spoken, mild-mannered southern bell who could direct an army, loves her momma and will always be daddy's little girl. my daddy may be gone, and there might not be much elegance or grace in me for that matter, but southern i am, born and bred that way.
in the south, the breeze blows softer...neighbors are friendlier, nosier, and more talkative. a southerner never uses one word when ten or twenty will do. this is a different place. our way of thinking is different, as are our ways of seeing, laughing, singing, eating, meeting and parting. our walk is different, as the old song goes, our talk and our names. nothing about us is quite the same as in the country to the north and west. what we carry in our memories is different too, and that may explain everything else.
Who I'd like to meet:
Well I am sure there are many people in this world that I would enjoy meeting. However, how many of us can say, with honesty, that you have already met one of the VERY most important people in your life... That person that you automatically know that there is no way you could ever go through life without them, well, I have.. In August of 1998, Summer, the night I met her, at a bar no less, we became friends, and she has been my best friend from that day forward. She means the world to me, and I would not want to go through this life without her. There are times when life gets in the way of us talking to one another, but never does it get in the way of our friend ship. She may not be my sister through birth, but she is none the less, my beloved sister.
