..Really depends on my mood. I like a wide variety of music (eastern + western). Don't get freaked out if you hear funny tunes playin on my profile now and again - lol... It happens!
Movies
..Okay with most modern movies that are "rateable". I don't watch trash... and there's a lot of that about! Which ones do I like specifically? Some sci-fi if they're good and have a decent theme/storyline. Examples are: Contact, Pitch Black, Alien, Star Wars Episode II - Attack of the Clones (my favourite SW), Silent Running (really old!), Apollo 13, The Day After Tomorrow, The Philadelphia Experiment. I am also into horror, but again will only go to see something that leaves a "lasting impression" in the mind. Examples: The Mothman Prophecies, Salem's Lot, The Exorcist, From Dusk Till Dawn (comical), Vampires, The Shining, The Ring... etc.
Television
..Factual documentaries on topics that move me. Friends is great comedy as are Only Fools and Horses, Black Adder, Rory Bremner, Fawlty Towers, Ali G.
Books
..Favorite authors are Carl Sagan, Dean Koontz, H. G. Wells, Arthur C. Clarke, Stephen King, plus others who write good fiction. As well as providing escapism and nourishment for the mind, I particularly favour novels and stories that are mind-broadening and actually help to move the human cause forward in some way or other.
Heroes
..Actually my parents come first. After all, they were the ones who took care of me and gave me the freedom to choose what took my interest during my formative years.
Next would probably be Carl Sagan. The dude was a huge inspiration to me to get into all this astronomy and space stuff, okay? Ever seen the movie 'Contact' starring Jodie Foster? That was based on Carl Sagan's novel by the same name. Oh, and I shouldn't forget Patrick Moore. His many excellent books and 'Sky at Night' programmes really fired up my imagination.
About me: I am an astronomer and creative fantasy writer, and had my first novel published in 2005. It's a science fiction fantasy *epic* charting the trials and tribulations of a colony of people heading out from Earth for the very first time in this giant ark ship. And boy, are they lonely? Drifting in the dark waters of an endless interstellar ocean... thousands of years and trillions of miles away from any other world...
The first book in the series is called First Ark to Alpha Centauri and its story theme is a mixture of nightmarish horror, a little romance and some science. Be sure to check it out on Amazon.com!
I've been on quite a few TV shows, radio interviews, newspapers and stuff a while back, and even won a couple of awards 'cos my book became a best-seller!!! All the national and international media publicity is detailed on this page. If that link doesn't work, try this one.
My second novel is set on a dark ice world that the people from the ship have encountered and is called The True Price of Immortality . It was released August 7th and is now available to buy at Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble, etc. and also in Waterstones book stores in the U.K.
Imagine a whole New Earth waiting for us to go colonise:
"A tiny ray of hope for humanity in the eternal darkness..."
All the details about me and my award-winning books are on the published authors website. The blogs up top of this page give some scientific justification for my work, so I hope you will peruse them at your leisure.
Thanks for sending the trailer. I am looking forward to seeing and hearing more about it! Hope everything is going well for you and your family. I bet your baby girl is getting so big!
