The Americana Burlesque & Sideshow Festival is now in its 3rd year.

This spectacular 3-day event brings Burlesque, Vaudeville and Sideshow artists from all over the country to Asheville, North Carolina, the old Paris of the South, for networking, education, performance, vending...oh, and parties.

2009 Event Schedule: *Friday, June 12. Artist Vaudeville Tour, Red Carpet Gala & Opening Ceremonies, & the Red Carpet Afterparty. At 8pm our Festival artists can opt to jump on the LaZoom Bus, a rolling Vaudeville theatre, for a wine-soaked, music-filled caper around the city with fellow ABSfesters. Remember, keep your stilettos in the bus at all times. Or don't...anything goes!
At 9pm, we disembark at MoDaddy's to walk the Red Carpet for the Paparazzi and waiting crowds, right on into the ABSfest Opening Ceremonies. From 9-11, enjoy awards, circus fashion and outrageous performance by local and national artists. At 11pm, stay for the live music and afterparty!,br> ~Bus Tour $5, Red Carpet Gala $15, Afterparty $5 for those arriving after 11pm.

*Saturday, June 13. ABSfest Spectacular & Afterparty. 7-12pm. Join us at The Orange Peel Social Aid & Pleasure Club, (voted one of the best venues of its size in the country by Rolling Stone), for a tremendous evening of risque talent. This show features all the stars of ABSFest, Trixie Little & The Evil Hate Monkey, The Syrens of the South, Corky Bordeaux of Bootstraps Burlesque, The Mezmer Society, a guest visit from James Bond, and many more. Delight in the show, browse the vendors and stay lusciously late!
~$25 Advance Sale Tickets, $30 at the door, $5 for for those arriving after just for the Afterparty.

*Saturday-Sunday, June 13-14. Workshops in the ABSfest Seminary; Get Right with the Gods of Sass!
9-6pm each day. The Movement & Learning Center on Biltmore Avenue will open its doors for 2 days packed full of workshops in topics from Introductory Burlesque to Boylesque, Stagecraft to Acrobalance, Professional Make-up for Stage and more. Hours in the ABSfest Seminary count towards your certificate of Vaudeville Divinity!
