MISSION: 1.Raise funds for families forced into poverty due to raising an autistic loved one. 2.Develop programs that encourages music therapy to teach social behavior. 3.Creative interactive conferences designed to promote autism awareness.
OUR MISSION
Aid for Autistic Children Foundation, Inc.'s mission is to provide funds to families that have exhausted their earnings, savings, as well as government and other non-profit financial resources because of their desire to better the lives of their autistic children or dependent adult. We also assist autistic and Asperger Syndrome adults who choose to live independently.
Check out the new Website at WWW.AACFINC.ORG. It's time to get serious!
THIS IS THE CNN iREPORT.COM VIDEO. IF YOU'VE NOT SEEN IT, I'VE MADE SOME IMPROVEMENTS TO IT. ENJOY!
Aid for Autistic Children Foundation, Inc. - Georgia is working toward becoming a 501(c)3 non-profit who's mission is to assist families across the U.S. caring for children or adults that have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Our main goal is to give help NOW. We applaud the efforts of other organizations that fund research for a potential cure, however, our concern is with the families facing hardship and crisis "right now" because of not having access to (or support for) early intervention. This combination of circumstances creates unrelenting poverty for these families. They need help NOW. We will give the assistance in the form of an actual cash grant. The clients needs will be met "right then". No government red tape; no preferences; no hassles. Each family will be evaluated on a case by case basis, ensuring the funds go directly to what will end the hardship, debt or crisis. Eventually we want to do more than just give these families money. We would also like to provide seminars to educate parents; helping them develop the skills they really need to keep the crisis situations at a minimum. Denial, along with improper diagnosis, is the worst of the problems many autistic children and adults face from family and healthcare professionals. If you're still reading this, you are definitely someone with a good heart that surely wants to be a part of making a difference in these families lives. Take the next step and find out why we are so passionate about this.
Why are we doing this? Simple. AACFINC was founded by me - Michael Buckholtz. My family has been coping with ASD for the past 35 plus years. This condition affects my father, both brothers, my nephew and me. I have Asperger's Syndrome and OCD (a high functioning form of autism). WOW! This might be surprising to some people. Someone with autism trying to help others with autism! My parents went bankrupt coping with this condition. I've dedicated the remainder of my life to Autism Awareness and creating a national 'Safety Net' fund for families caring for their autistic children. I was one of those children and my mother sacrificed everything to help me. Thankfully, I grew up to become a multi-platinum record producer and met all kinds of famous people in the music industry. Autistic kids can grow to learn amazing things like I did, but, not all will be as fortunate as that. That's why I feel it's important there be some kind of financial cushion for them. A type of National Trust for autistic children and adults. It's the least I can do even though I continue to cope. I have to do something to help these families because I know what it's like - plain and simple.

How can you help? Okay. You are more than willing to help if you're down to reading this section. Here's the deal: In-kind donations and (or) purchasing our products. As a non-profit business, we are limited in what we can do to generate funds for the purpose you just read about in the first paragraph. We only desire the involvement of those with purity in motive. My mission is grassroots and is being built from the bottom up and not the top down. Ordinary everyday parents (mostly mothers) caring for their autistic child(ren) understand what it takes and that's who I listen to. Many in my community have told me this is a special and unique thing I'm doing. I just believe this is a service that's missing and someone's got to provide it. It's that simple.
How do you donate? Couple of ways. One: You can send it to us directly using "snail mail" (U.S. Postal Service). I'll give that address in a minute. Remember, what you do from this point on will literally change the life of an autistic child. Next: You can donate with your debit/credit card through PayPal or the purchase of an item. It's hassle free, secure and if you purchase an item, you'll recieve something useful and cool that reminds you of your generosity. It's that easy! So, please, don't be shy. One dollar to twenty-five dollars will go a long way to helping a family remain on track in helping their autistic child get the attention he or she needs from family. It's all about alleviating the financial burden enough to concentrate on what's really important.
How much can you donate? This is totally up to each individual. I'd like to have the entire worlds involvement, of course. The goal for this national "Safety Net" account is aggressive and ambitious. AACFINC's goal is to have 3 million donors to give up to $25.00. That's all. This is the only fundraising AACFINC would need to do. Once we've reached the necessary donors, we would then, through an interest bearing account, be able to provide up to $150,000.00 in relief to 30 families a year. This is not rocket science. We just need the donors. Spread the word so we can roll out the relief.

AWA welcomes ASAN President Ari Ne'eman and Board Member Paula Durbin Westby, organizer of Saturday October 31st Washington DC area protest against Autism Speaks. We'll be hearing from them about ASAN's protest at Autism Speaks' DC area walk-a-thon Saturday as well as the growing wave of protests against Autism Speaks around the country, why its happening, where its going, what its implications and importance will be for the neurodiversity movement & the autistic community. In addition, we'll be checking in with ASAN on some of their advocacy priorities inside the beltway, asking about how Autistic people will be impacted by the health reform packages being considered by Congress and what pending legislation on school abuse might have to help Autistic students.

They are not the mark of weakness, but of power.
They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues.
They are messengers of overwhelming grief...and unspeakable love.”
