Interests

  • General

    My main interests are history and political science. I'm working to become a lawyer soon trying to get into law school. My hobbies include playing tennis, going to the gym, doing jiu-jitsu, playing video games and especially reading books, articles and magazines. I should also get into logic since I'll be using it a lot in a little bit.

  • Music

    I have an ecletic taste in music. I like pop, rap, hip-hop, reggaeton, latin music, club music and rock. My favorite bands are Green Day and Fall Out Boys. I like going to concerts like any Green Day one and to others like Ozzfest and Kristmas Kaos.

  • Movies

    I'm into funny movies like American Pie, Deuce Bigalow, Scary Movie, and just recently American Dreamz. I like good war movies with lots of actions and especially if it has an uplifting plot. These include Saving Private Ryan, The Patriot, Braveheart, and Full Metal Jacket.

  • Television

    I'm into watching comedy shows like on Comedy Central like South Park, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, The Colbert Report and Drawn Together. I also like the Fox shows of The Simpsons, The Family Guy, and American Dad. I like these shows because they are social and political satires that reveal how messed up real life can be. I love to watch the History Channel or Nazis 24-7 as critics have called it.

  • Books

    I'm in college so I'm pretty much forced to like reading for my classes. I'm a History and Political Science who enjoys books that seek to reveal and analize how historical and political events affect the way we think today. It's a shame when a lot of people don't feel that their daily lives have nothing to with history and political science because they miss the importance of what their predecessors have established for them. I'm also into reading novels like The Odyssey and the Iliad because of their sense of adventure and struggle. I also like stories that deal with racial themes like To Kill a Mockingbird and personal issues like the Great Gatsby.Another interesting book is Marx for Beginners which talks about the evolution of history towards socialism. There were a lot of ideas I agreed with and others I didn't but one quote from an ancient Greek philosopher is truly revealing about man today:"If oxen and horses and lions had hands or could draw with these hands, horses would draw pictures of gods like horses, and oxen like oxen, lions like lions, and the gods would resemble the bodies each species possesses" This quote was said by the great Xenophanes to the Athenian ruling class. (39).

  • Heroes

    I think I'll be corny and say my parents. Hey, unlike Superman, Spiderman, Jesus and God they actually exist. They help inspire me everyday with their hard working ethic and their determination to help in every step of the way to succeed.

Boy, and I thought I was worried about getting a DUI before law school. Looks like once you're in the "guild" you can get away with anything. I wonder if the Fla. bar will go after him. Nah, he'll just get publicly admonished whatever that means. PR is such a joke.

Who I'd like to meet:

I'd liked to meet the creators of the Simpsons, South Park, and the Family Guy. I think their styles of humor are all uniquely funny. I also love watching the Daily Show with Jon Stewart and the Colbert Report. I think they're hilarious and make watching news seem fun and refreshing. Their satirical viewpoints reveal more about the truth of politics and society in general than the so-called "real" news. I would also look forward to making awesome friends in law school so that I can have a typical, intimate college experience that would last a lifetime and make law school more bearable.
