Sounds Like
"Loud singing accompanied by what sounded like mandolins issued from a distant corner..." - J.K. Rowling (Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince)
"In the end his money and goods and temper were all gone. Nothing remained to him but his thirst...that grew more prodigious with every sober breath he drew." - Jack London (White Fang)
"I knew I did not love (her) nor had any idea of loving her. This was a game, like bridge, in which you said things instead of playing cards. Like bridge you had to pretend you were playing for money or playing for some stakes. Nobody had mentioned what the stakes were. It was alright with me." - Ernest Hemingway (A Farewell to Arms)
Boise native Andrew Anderson is no stranger to travel. In recent years he has lived in Boston, Seattle, Austin, and Boise as well as spending a lot of time on the road. Since relocating to Austin in June of 2009 he has only spent about half his time at home due to his touring and teaching schedule which had him traveling to San Diego, Dallas, Seattle and Hot Springs, AR.
Andrew has released three albums. One with fellow songwriter, Stephanie Johnson entitled Something We Both Share which was a collection of acoustic songs that were written and recorded in 2005. In 2007 while attending Berklee Andrew finished an EP entitled Love in Reverse which was a created mostly to bridge the gap between the former album and his latest.
Andrew's new release As Long as This Thing's Flyin' is available for mail order now and will be released digitally on Novemeber 10th, 2009. The new album was recorded in Boise, ID at Funky Town Studios, by Luke Meade who also helped produce the album as well as played all of the drums and percussion. Joining Luke and Andrew in the effort was Berklee graduate Jeremy Harris, who helped produce as well as playing bass, guitar, banjo and dobro. Jeremy also composed and arranged parts for cello on the record, which was performed by Ki Johnsen.
Andrew will be touring in November and December of 2009 in support of the record and plans to tour more in 2010.

"Elliott Smith meets Dylan" - Hot Springs Sentinel Record
"Andrew Anderson is amazing. He’s a lonesome traveler that writes songs and lives them. He’s unknown for now, but hopefully not forever." -Mike Herrera of MxPx/Tumbledown (in an interview with thealbumproject.net)
"The group's philosophy could be described in the track, "Damn It Man": "I smoke too much / I drink too much / I swear too much and my life is riddled with sin." But Anderson himself might, in a nutshell, best be described as an original homestyle voice paired with altruistic acoustic accoutrements. It's this blending of Dylan-style vocals with structured rock chords and bittersweet subject matter that creates a wholesome album, As Long As This Thing's Flyin', their fourth full-length endeavor. The fast-paced number "The Hawk," in particular, makes this reviewer want to dance with a pretty lady...As Long As This Thing's Flyin' harkens back to the days before synthesizers when fingers were callused, throats were sore and makin' your own sweet music hurt so good." -Andrew Crisp, The Boise Weekly
"The irreverent country tunes of Andrew Anderson benefit greatly from tremendous lead guitar, banjo, mandolin, and backing vocals from gifted sideman J.R. Harris. Anderson's no slouch himself, with his rapid-fire delivery and funny, original lyrics. "Damn It Man" has a thoughtful arrangement with lots of left turns and a nifty instrumental section where a deft lead guitar in one channel duels with a woozy one in the other. "Necessary Casualties" is an impassioned antiwar song with every lyric chosen for maximum effect. "Once Met a Girl" plays an obvious-seeming premise into a memorable personable twist, as Anderson muses that his wild past means he "don't have the right" to woo his one true love."
-Mark Donohue - Big western Flavor (Oct 24, 2009)
"Andrew is a talented songwriter and arranger. He's equally capable with an acoustic guitar and in front of a band. He was a pleasure to work with. I'm sure he's going to do really well, and I look forward to hearing more."
-TW Walsh, former sideman of Pedro the Lion, and Engineer, currently fronts the band The Soft Drugs.

I just realized it sucks being in another country cause I can't buy your CD's. I really dislike buying them on iTunes and stuff cause if the computer crashes it's lost ya know. Plus I don't get the images and stuff for CD's. Do you think its possible for me to get a sent copy of your albums if I pay for them?
you want me to check out your music? well let's make it official! me and the crew have a podcast strictly for underground artists. we'll play your song on our show for all of our listeners, and give our opinions and ideas on it. we'll read a bio for you so the world can get to know you a bit and we'll even shout out if you got a tour coming up or an album or ep dropping soon and let people know where to find you or where they can watch you perform. it's a comedy/critique show that will give you exposure and promo your projects. hit me back if you are interested.
