Unfortunately, my good friend and yours - the Reverend Gideon V. Wainwright was shot by a jealous husband in Memphis, TN early Wednesday morning on May 20, 2009. Authorities stated that two shots to the chest killed him instantly while he was performing his last song of the evening, "The Usual Infinity." I guess Gideon's infinity wasn't as long as it should have been. Well, that's what she said.
Fortunately (or unfortunately as the case may be) this was just Gideon's lame attempt at insurance fraud. He received the a check for 15 Grand and was able to buy a case of Jack Daniels and a Denny's Grand Slam before the insurance company realized that he wasn't actually dead. He was released on home detention and has to perform 120 hours of community service speaking to school children about the evils of drinkin' and whorin'. The judge later commuted that part of his sentence when he was found giving out samples of Jack to the 3rd graders so they would know exactly what to stay away from. Those poor kids didn't stand a chance.
Gideon's Bio:
Heavily influenced by such traditional music as John Lee Hooker, Johnny Cash, and Hank Williams and new artists such as Ray LaMontagne and Hayes Carll, Wainwright's music adds a whiskey bent, smoked stained quality to solo acoustic singer / songwriter music. Never straying to far from his blues and country roots, he tells stories of death, despair, tender love lost, and the occasional sunny day. Having been a lead guitarist for a number of outfits throughout the years, most recently with Bob’s Liquor Lounge out of Indianapolis, you are sure to hear solid soulful guitar playing backing whiskey gargled lyrics.
"What can be said about Gideon Wainwright that hasn't already been said about the clouds. His style is as hard to pin down as Sandburg's elusive
Chicago fog; switching from folk blues, to honky tonk, to singer/songwriter, to rockabilly, and back to Chicago blues. Basically, if it is roots music...he feels that it is fair game to play. With a solid energetic guitar style and a voice like sand and glue he is sure to put on a good show."
-The drunk guy in the corner-
"He's got the grit and believability you need to write a song you could have swore Hank Williams Sr. wrote and he's got this great knack for popping out these incredibly infectious songs that would absolutely be on the radio if the radio played good independent music!"
-Cliff Snyder-
"[T]he reverend of roots music..."

Hey Gideon, I think you should start a new blog called "What Would Beastman Do?" The premise would be to document some of Beast's antics and then encourage folks to do just the opposite. So think: What would Beast do...? Do a 180 opposite, and you'll almost ALWAYS make a good decision. Hey, have a happy Chrischanakwansis (or whatever you're in to). Love, Hank

Get yourself out the bed and come see Hank 'fore he goes off to court ordered rehab. And bring a little foldin’ money for the tip jug. Some homemade chocolate chip cookies or a fresh loaf of banana bread would be nice, too. As a little incentive, Hank will be selling his pair of genuine man made leather boots (size 10 ½). These are real western classics, machine crafted in El Paso, China ($10.00). That's right folks, just $10.00.
The 20Belows is a melodic punk rock band from Copenhagen, Denmark. With inspiration from bands such as the The Ramones, Screeching Weasel and The Queers, you would maybe fear that just another pop punk band had been born but that couldn’t be further from the truth....
Also...the debut appearance of The Typos and from Chicago, The Hypnic Jerks round out the night.

It's rumored to be an untruth. The Greenfield police received a report two weekw ago of a "heavily under the influence gentleman with a hat and grasping a honey bun in his right hand, last seen crouched in pain and behind bars at the Speedway gas station. He was being held temporarily behind temporary bars".
