I'd had to say SOAD is without question the best current band. SOAD has the musicial talent and intensity that most bands just don't have. While most bands sound the same, SOAD stands out.
While SOAD is my current favorite band, I still say that The Beatles will go down as the greatest act in music, period. If you look at music historically, no band made more of an influence on the industry or produced as many memorable songs as they did. Just for the record, I know pretty all of their songs by heart.
I regularly listen to Eminem, 311, Green Day, and Elvis Costello.

Obviously, I am a big horror freak. Since I was a little kid, I've had an obsession with horror films, slasher films in particular. The only scientific or logicial reason I can give for this is that human beings are animals, and animals have a violent nature. Watching a horror film is my way of letting my inner violent nature come out in a fantasy rather than being violent in real life. That's my best explaination.
Another obvious observation is that I love the classic comedy teams (Laurel and Hardy, Abbott and Costello, Three Stooges, Marx Brothers) from the early days of cinema. I grew up watching those old films, and they still hold a special place in my heart today. Some of the humor survives the test of time while some of it doesn't, but those old movies never fail to entertain me.
Television
Velocity, Monday Night RAW, Smackdown, TNA Impact, Da Ali G Show (funniest show on television IMO), Bullshit!, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Sanford And Son, The Simpsons (I love the first 6-7 seasons, then it went downhill for me), South Park, Beavis and Butthead. I honestly don't watch a lot of television, most of what I watch are DVDs.
Ali G is one of the few shows where I will actually laugh out loud. I give Sacha Baron Cohen all the credit in the world because he can conduct these ridiculous interviews with people while keeping a straight face the entire time. That's one of the things that really amazes me about this guy. He can ask a guy like Buzz Aldrin what it was like to walk on the sun and keep his character completely serious to the point where the guys that are being interviewed think he's a legit idiot. The reactions of the people being interviewed are what I find the most funny, at least when there is a reaction! (12/06 Edit: I wrote this in May 2005 way before Cohen became a mainstream sensation with his movie!)
Curb Your Enthusiam is a tremendous show and I think Larry David is a genius. It's a totally unique show in the fact that there's hardly a script. There is a just a basically plotline and the actors improvise their lines. The show has a very REAL feel to it. Many of the situations in the show are what people like you and me go through everyday. I think the show is funny because these very simple conflicts are blown up into these huge arguments, which is very realistic because people have a tendency to get angry over trivial things. The show basically mirrors real life which is why I think it works so well, plus it's always fun and rewarding to see bad things happen to rich people!
Books
Unlike my parents, I'm not much of a reader. I read the wrestling newsletters, and I will generally read non-fiction over fiction. When I'm .., I'll sometimes do a search on any random topic and find all the information I can about it. For example, I had just been to Six Flags Magic Mountain and I decided to do some research and find out about the history of the park. That led me to wanting to know about how roller coasters are built and maintained, and one thing search item led to another.
Heroes
My parents for bringing me up well. As far as celebrities go, I'd say Hulk Hogan. Some people grow up with Superman or Batman as their childhood hero... Hulk Hogan was MY childhood hero. I was nine years old when Hogan lost the WWF Title to The Undertaker at Survivor Series 1991, and I was crying when Taker won the match. I attended Wrestlemania 21 live and I cried again when Hogan made his surprise appearance. Hell, I was emotional the entire evening. I was SO thrilled just to be part of that event in person. I have nothing but respect for all of the people involved in wrestling for providing people with years of entertainment. To me, they are all heroes and they have inspired me to do the one thing that I love doing, and that's entertaining people.
You might know me as the owner of NoDQ.com as well as NoDQforums.com, the world's largest internet wrestling community! Obviously from looking at this page, you can tell that I am a diehard wrestling fan.
NoDQ has done a lot for me. I've been up to meet many of the performers that I grew up watching. I've been able to travel and visit different parts of the country. As pathetic as this may sound, I've probably made more friends through NoDQ than anywhere else.
If you have any questions or would like to chat, my e-mail is nodq@nodq.com and my screenname is Aaron Rift on AOL Instant Messanger. Please forgive me if I don't respond to you right away!

yo aaron dude seriously, i really think the writers and mcmahon should just like have a bunch of fans get into a room, and like write down some stuff for the creative team and work with them. just like what they do with television before the pilots are put on the air. i garuntee you that would skyrocket the company.
