State Assembly Bill AB 1634 was introduced by Assembly Member Lloyd Levine on February 23, 2007. - - - - - - - - -- - - - - -

Here's what needs to be done:
1. People should write letters to the Sacramento office of Lloyd Levine (who is introducing AB 1634, the California Healthy Pets Act) , Mike Eng (Chairman of the Assembly Business and Professions Committee), and as many members of the Assembly Business and Professions Committee (listed below) as possible, as well as their local Assemblymember. The mailing address for each of the above is the same:

Each letter or email should clearly state "In Support of AB 1634, the California Healthy Pets Act" at the top of the letter, and state the writer's reasons why s/he thinks it should become law. It is critical that letters be supportive of AB 1634 without being confrontational or negative in their tone. Letters should not make accusations against anyone, whether individuals or government agencies. No one likes to read, or pays much attention to, letters of that kind. The letters should be one page or less and it would be best if they were not copied from someone else's writing, but rather are an expression of the actual writer's views.
TIMING IS CRITICAL. There is a hearing set for March 10 for the Assembly Business and Professions Committee. AB 1634 must have enough support at that hearing or it will be endangered at best. There has been a huge amount of opposition for the bill, and those in opposition are making their views known. We must do the same.
If someone would rather send emails than write letters, the email addresses of Lloyd Levine and the B&P committee members are stated below. It would be much better of actual letters were sent instead of emails, especially to Assembly Member Levine. Emails should have as the subject line: In Support of AB 1634, the California Healthy Pets Act
