Andrew is currently studying Honours Composition at the New Zealand School of Music, Wellington, under the tutelage of Michael Norris, and is in his final year of Composer-In-Residence with the Wellington Cathedral of St.Paul. His music is sung regularly in the cathedral by the Wellington Cathedral Choir, and has had performances of his works by various ensembles including the Southern Sinfonia, Auckland Philharmonia, New Zealand Secondary Students Choir, New Zealand Youth Choir and the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra. He has been commissioned by various artists including the TOWER New Zealand Youth Choir, Dragon Opera and the Dunedin Youth Orchestra, and his anthem ‘For the Fallen’ has been broadcast several times on TVOne as part of the official ANZAC Day Commemorations. Andrew was announced winner of the Edgecumbe Choir Golden Jubilee Choral Composition Award in 2007. His winning entry has been performed several times by the Edgecumbe Choir, as well as the New Zealand Youth Choir. Andrew’s interest in music lies strongly in choral composition, a pursuit that has gained him many performances of his choral music throughout NZ. Several of his choral pieces appear on the Choir of Wellington Cathedral of St.Paul’s Easter CD ‘The Service of Shadows’.
