Sounds Like
tiny vignettes forming in the deep recesses of your subconscious bubbling into the aural space of your ears
As desolate as the cold northern coasts, the songs of Abandoned
Lighthouse are haunting ambient siren songs of the kind that lured
sailors into the rocks. With tidal guitar loops and crashing waves of
reverb, Brooklynite Tim Mislock creates vast and evocative noises
under wispy pop melodies that crumble like old buildings being
attacked by the elements. Recorded early in 2009 and released this
summer, Mislock's first full-length as Abandoned Lighthouse, called A
Static Stream, captures a quiet energy, sometimes mournful, but always
full of life.
"Ambient little ditties with barely-there vocals. Perfect for staring off into space and thinking about the long-lost days of summer." - L Magazine
