It's all changed a bit lately, with the departure of Steve we lost any knowledge of computer know-how we ever had. Hence this site hasn't been touched for time. This is also why we've been quiet on most other fronts.
So now it's like this.................JOE (guitar, vox and resident complete bastard), JAMIE (drums, backin' vox, part-time bastard) and JEFF (bass, backin' vox, and general nice guy - well you can't have it all!)
Influences
collectively lots including dead kennedys, melt banana, the specials, GBH,ramones, sex pistols, dick dale, link wray, los saicos.... a bit of a half arsed list but better than nothing. ill ask the other guys and then ill break it down ...
FUCKING HELL! I ACTUALLY MANAGED TO GET ON TO THIS THING AT LAST!!!! WOO-HOO!!!!...... errrr.......FOR ANYONE WHO DOESN'T KNOW WE'VE GOT A NEW RECORDING (apologies for the poor state of the last one!!). S'POSE I'D BETTER GET ROUND TO PUTTING SOME OF IT ON HERE, NOW I KNOW HOW. - WATCH THIS SPACE................HERES THE OLD BLURB FOR ANYONE WHO CARES.................
Bastard Squad was born about a year ago originally started by Joe and Jamie plus darren . after a little while and darren being replaced by steve, bastard squad spent many hours swearing in a small lock-up on the edge of town . after many hours of swearing and several periods of doing nothing fudge of the positives offered them there first gig in the man on the moon in december with the positives.since then weve moved into a bigger better lock -up and learned more swears after watching every peice of equipment in brighton fail. so basically if you like swearing the chances are youl like bastard squad . not THE bastard squad but hey lets face it theres more than one guy in the world called dave and nobody minds...if we think of a better name maybe well change but dont hold me to that cus stuff happens slowly in bastardsquadland.
RECENT DEVELOPMENTS.
Well we're all set to gig our hearts out right now but people do not seem to realize we're an active band itching to get out there - they seem to think we are nowt but a mailboard for their own stuff! Don't get me wrong, we're here to support the scene, and you're welcome to post punk flyers here. But could our name be on one or two of them do you think?? Just try to contact us and give us some notice before you put us on any flyers. We have dayjobs. One of us has a kid. Its the holiday season. Ya know how it is. I check this site about once or twice a week at the moment, Jamie does also. But by far the quickest way to keep us up to speed is to RING us. Is that too last century? I'm not going to dish out my phone number on the net 'cause everyone knows it's full of nonces and al- Quieda. But plenty of guys on the scene have it, just ask around whenever you're at a gig in Cambridge. I HAVE A GUN. BOOK US.
EXTRA PLAYERS. We had a brief outing with a SAX player who has now buggered off to blackburn with one of my guitars. Git. But yeah, that was fun. A second GUITAR would also help on a lot of the songs. Whether for guest appearances or more full time basis, we're looking for any sort of instrument that would go with punk and/or ska/reggae.
