ABATWAAR is a Groove Death Metal band from the "wonderful world" of St. Peter, Minnesota. Originally, Chief and Ogar were just high school friends jamming on bass and drums, respectively. Not long after the demise of the pair's first attempt at a band, Chief began playing guitar and actual song structures started to emerge out of the improvisational jamming.
Always wanting to take it to the next level, and unable to find a bassist to round out the instrumentation, Abatwaar added singer Cancer Sepsis, who later left the band. It didn't take too long until JailBate decided to try his hand at vocals, and Abatwaar was once again a three-piece. With renewed fervor, the three re-wrote songs from material not written by Sepsis.
When a remarkable talent was found in Islatyx, she was quickly welcomed into the band, and Abatwaar seemed near completion. Knowing a bassist would fully round out the lineup, Islatyx called on an extremely talented bassist she knew, Dustin (too cool for an angryname). Unfortunately for the band, Ogar's hard-headedness and scheduling conflicts caused Dustin's departure shortly after his admission.
While another bassist was much needed and desired, none that were satisfactory were available. Undeterred, the four immediately began writing and improving material. Much time passed, until finally one day Chief's younger brother Sachem decided to take on bass duties, and Abatwaar has since been a fully operational band.
With almost all brand new eqiupment and renewed dedication, Sachem switched to guitar and we brought in a new bassist, Kennedy, to fill out the sound (which, unfortunately due to scheduling problems didn't work out).
With this newly solidified lineup, ABATWAAR intends to make itself known as a Groove Death Metal force to be reckoned with!
