Welcome to the subterranean world of the band, known to those on the surface as, "A Ballad Alchemy." Though the band records studio material and has those tracks featured on their official myspace site: www.myspace.com/aballadalchemy, this page holds the music and stories of their creation in its earliest and pre-developed form. Due to the disproportionate balance of the number of songs written by A Ballad Alchemy and the amount of hours in a day, it is a sad truth that many of the songs created in a moment of inspired intention may never actually come to term. These recordings are the captured moments of spontaneous creation that occur in the basement of A Ballad Alchemy. The songs were recorded by a single microphone hanging in the center of the basement. These are songs not pre-written or ever practiced before. These recordings allow a glimpse at the very instance of collective creation and empathetic musical impulse. The soul intention of this site is to share these "songseeds" with those who might otherwise never hear them.
This being said, these recordings are also riddled with occasional off notes and out of time hits. This is part of the beauty of these recordings. They are flawed, but they are honest. With all improvisational art there are errors and bad choices, but it is the moments of spontaneous coordination in feeling and action that align the band members in an inspired and unified musical thought.
