At Abba Capoeira, we think of Capoeira as a great mixture of martial
arts, acrobatics, game-like sparring and self-improvement, but it
is interpreted many different ways by many different people. Some
consider it a martial art with its plethora of deadly spinning kicks,
while others consider it a dance with its rhythmic movements, to be
practiced light-heartedly and without malice. As a whole, it contains

Mestre Robson De Jesus is originally from Brazil's first capital,
Salvador- Bahia, which is considered by many today as the world's
capital of Capoeira. He first started his career in 1982 under Mestre
João de Barros at Ango-Regional. Robson performed with Bale
Folclorico da Bahia, the only professional performing arts company
in Brazil. At this point Robson began his teaching career. In 1991
Robson was recognized as a professor by Mestre Alabama. Between
1992 and 1994 Robson was performing at Plataforma I in Rio de Janeiro.
» At the end of 1994 Robson auditioned and became a part of the
Scalla Rio, another well known Brazilian performing arts company,
in Miami, Florida. After five years of performing and instructing
in the Miami area, Robson created Abba Capoeira in 1999. Robson
was a pioneer in bringing Capoeira to the Boca Raton area and after
a great success he decided to introduce Capoeira to Atlanta. |

» Our classes usually start out with a warm up run of about five
to ten minutes followed by either stretching or warm up drills
of basic movements. These stretching and warm up drills are rigorous
and tire even the most experienced students.
» Training with us will give you a great Rodaworkout, including
stretching, high-flying kicks, tumbling, strength and athletic
training, self-defense, discipline and endurance.
» All classes are held at our new academy, located at 212
S. Main Street, Alpharetta, GA. We invite you to come watch
