About me:
I was born and raised in Carson City, Nevada. I attended the University of Nevada Las Vegas where I received my BA in theater studies, as well as becoming a member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority and working for 2 summers at Camp Echo Lake in upstate NY as a theater activity specialist. I spent my junior year studying abroad in England, and moved to San Francisco after graduating from college where I stage managed and taught theater to kids, along with working at a deli in the Embarcadaro district...then I was livin it up in New Zealand where I was traveling and working for a year (many odd jobs including door-to-door sales and teaching hip-hop to kids)and it was so awesome!:)...I have been a teacher for the past 3 years in the Washoe County School District...I can't imagine anything more I want to do with my life than to work with kids!-I luv em!!!:) I subbed around Reno for a year, completed my student teaching in 4th and 2nd grade, and finished my first year of teacher as a 6th grade Language Arts/Social Studies teacher at Cold Springs Middle School, where I also started and ran an after-school drama club for 5th-8th graders. This past year I team-taught first grade at Stead Elementary for the 1st month of school and after count day I volunteered/was asked to take over a 6th grade class, so I was back teaching 6th graders again! I started and ran a drama club there as well. I received my MA in K-8 Education from Sierra Nevada College and wrote my thesis on the importance of the arts in education. I just got a job teaching SPED and theater to 7th-12th graders at Silver State Charter School in Carson City and will be moving back to my hometown after being away for 9 years! I am also a board member of Youth Voice, a non-profit, non-partisan organization started by a friend from high school to make the youth of today more aware about politics and what is happening in the world around them...I love all my friends and family more than anything else and they are the most important thing in my life and that's why I LOVE my space!:)...keep in touch everyone!...Me In A Nutshell...Friendly, kind, indecisive-but in a group of indecisive peeps, I will and can make a quick decision, talkative, knowledgeable about people and pop culture, lover, passionate, fun-loving, love the social scene!, funny, easy-going, laid back, dorky, can laugh at myself, goofy, weird, a good communicator, hates having people mad at me, traveler, art lover, passionate, empathetic, relaxed yet I still stress sometimes, adventure seeker, night owl, morning person, hates the middle of the day, coffee and chi and diet soda or diet energy drink lover, wine lover, music lover, movie freak, on the shorter side, always playing the devil's advocate seeing both sides of every situation, gets along well with mostly everyone, good friend, my friends and family are the most important things to me in the world, butterfly lover, good-natured, teacher, loves color, loves the sun and the rainy days too, chocolate lover, would LOVE to learn to play the guitar!!!:)
