Anarchist Black Cross - Middle Tennessee's Details
About me: "The stated purpose of the Anarchist Black Cross Network is to actively assist prisoners in their fight to obtain their civil and human rights, and to aid them in their struggle against the State/Class penal and judicial system. The prison system is the armed fist of the State, and is a system for State slavery. It is not really for "criminals" or other "social deviants," and it does not exist for the "protection of society."
It is for State social control and political repression. Thus it must be opposed at every turn and ultimately destroyed altogether. The abolition of prisons, the system of Laws, and the Capitalist State is the ultimate objective of every true Anarchist, yet there seems to be no clear agreement by the Anarchist movement to put active effort to that anti-authoritarian desire. We must organize our resources to support all political/class war prisoners if we truly wish to be their allies, and we must give something more than lip service.
Organizing against the enemy legal and penal system is both offensive and defensive. It is carried on with individuals, groups and among the masses in the community. We must inform the people on a large scale of the atrocities and inhumanity of the prisons, the righteousness of our struggle, and the necessity of their full participation and support. We must organize our communities to attack the prison system as a moral and social abomination, and we must fight to free all political/class war prisoners."

"That we are to stand by the President right or wrong is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public." Theodore Roosevelt
Does this definition sound familiar?
"Fascism - A system of government that exercises a dictatorship of the extreme right, typically through the merging of state and business leadership, together with belligerent nationalism." The American Heritage Dictionary, 1983
Greetings from Brixton, London. Thanks for the request. Check out www.myspace.com/MissDiagnosed for some anti-capitalist/video-activist videos. I find it criminal that a majority of people in prison have mental health problems, but don't get appropriate help, and are consigned to the dustbin by capitalist society. Also, there are many detention centres holding refugees, and children where people are treated as if they have commited a crime by seeking asylum. The system is rotten, and splitting at the seams. In solidarity MsD
You know in Britain, 80% of people in prison can't read and write to a reasonable standard. That's not a coincidence.
Even though I have a degree in Politics no one ever pointed me in the direction of any anarchist literature. When I started reading stuff a couple of years ago my husband said, "so are you an anarchist now?" I said "I always have been, just didn't know it before".
thank you for finding me. i dont know if i would classify myself as an anarchist because i do not trust people to uphold its bare principles. however unity between us anti authoritarians is what will help the most thanks again.
At a time when the UK prisons are so overcrowded that prisoners are now being released early, the political/class war prisoners should be first to leave.
It is interesting that you request friendship with me. It may not be clear on my site, but prison reform is something I have been striving for. The system is worthless and those who fall into it come out sick or sicker than when they orginally entered. We need radical reform especially with those who are addicted to drugs.
