"Hey, we are A Beckoning Silence. We have been playing with the current line-up since August 2008 after winning the Swindon Music Service Battle of the Bands. Since then we have been lucky enough to headline the Swindon Youth Festival and gig around the South-West. At present we are compiling our debut E.P. and enjoying playing bigger and better gigs, in front of a growing audience.
Despite trying to pin down our genre, we haven't yet been able to settle on something, however Post-Hardcore is currently our closest match. We take our influences from bands such as Funeral for a Friend, Avenged Sevenfold and A Day to Remember.
Keep checking back to see our gigs and read our blog for what we are up to.
"One of Swindon's up and coming bands, winners of 2008 youth service Battle of the Bands and already causing a stir across the South West, Their infectious soulful hard rock will be making Stratton Live jump up and take notice" - Stratton Live
"This weekend saw the return of A Beckoning Silence to Screamadelica Studios and as usual it was a right laugh and a good blast with the various bell-ends that are in A Beckoning Silence. We worked on two tracks both of which are completely different to one another, one is an electro Rock tune with Synth, Auto-tune, Vocoders and all that fun stuff and the other is a heavier more Funeral for a Friend / Avenged Sevenfold esque song that is more like the A Beckoning Silence we are all used to listening to.
These tracks have come out really well and The Only Reason is actually one of my favourite sounding tracks that I have produced so far this year, so it is a definite must check out for anyone into my work" - Chris Maguire (Altsounds)

As you may or may not be aware SoundARC hold a charity gig every year at Club 85 in Hitchin in aid of the Garden House Hospice in Letchworth, and this year we are going to try something a little different from previous years.
This year we are going to take over the club and host 37 acts in one weekend putting full bands upstairs and acoustic acts downstairs in an event that we are calling ARCfest!
It all starts on Friday 4th December at 7pm and then continues on through Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th from 12pm-11pm
As well as raising money for the Garden House Hospice in Letchworth, ARCfest will showcase all the different genres of bands that we at SoundARC have come across over the last 4 and a half years. Over this weekend a lot of the acts that you will see donâââ‰â¢t get a chance to play a great local venue like Club 85, So as well as hearing new music you will see all manors of genres and styles from acoustic - Metal - Indie - Rock - Punk - Electro - Ska - Funk - Hip Hop/Rap - Alternative - Rhythm & Blues - Reggae - Grunge and loads more that I cant remember!
